Brilliant performance to kick off the season. Dewsbury is always a tricky place to go but today we were comprehensive winners. Another strong defensive display from the Bulls which saw us withstand a lot of Dewsbury pressure in the first half. I felt that we should have capitalised on the field position we had in the first half and some of our 5th tackle plays were poor but we were able to win the arm wrestle and put the game to bed in the second half with some great work by Patton, Gill and Wallace. Great travelling support for the Bulls today. It felt like a home game, which is ironic considering Dewsbury were our landlords.
The only downside was the injury to Muizz Mustapha. It looked like a bad injury as he was being taken off.

Super performance. Would've been 10/10 but for a slight spell in the 2nd half when the Rams pulled a couple back.
Patton outstanding again. Classy showing from Gill. The try where Patton sent Walllce clear who drew the fullback for DFJ to score was a peach. Corey Johnson very classy when he came on. Mustapha was looking good until he did his knee. Hopefully it's not serious.

Wallace is looking like a great signing. When he set off after catching that Dewsbury kick I don't think he could believe his luck. He showed good speed to finish it off.

Just what we needed Imo. Dews looked a bit 'underdone' but it only reflected our dominance. If we can take that sort of attitude (in the main) into the rest of the season, we we won't go far wrong. Considering we had four or five, what you'd imagine were 1st choice players unavailable, then it bodes well for the season. COYB.

The DFJ try was a highlight for me. Not often that we score from a long way out.
Other positives - we looked dangerous attacking down either side and Patton's kicking game was good. So much goes through him but he seems to have time on the ball.
Things to work on. When Dewsbury got some momentum we got caught around the ruck when Crossley and Walker were tiring. The better sides will exploit that. Also when Dews got to put an attacking kick in we looked less assured than I'd like. The short kicks created a bit of havoc at times.
At one point Rhys Evans got a bit of a knock but he shrugged it off. Made me wonder who our back up centres are?
