First game of the season. Glad we've had a few friendlies to get up to speed. Think Murphy and Scurr picked up knocks yesterday, hopefully not serious. I'm presuming that England, Kibula, Hall and Miller are out longer term.

I'd go for the following - if fit.

Kear
Dawson Jones
Evans
Gill
DFJ
Patton
Jowitt
Crossley
Doyle
Walker
Murphy
Scott
Evans

Flanagan
Baldwinson
Scurr
Wallace

Hopefully a better start than last season.

Similar type of game too. You look at it and think its a game we definitely should be winning. But we need to turn up and perform, otherwise it will be DeJaVu . Dewsbury are a tough, well coaches team who have beaten us plenty of times over the last couple of years.

Hopefully we can grind out a tough win.

Yes, Kibula and England out for a while. Lilley, Hall and Miller all have injuries sustained in training and are now joined by Doyle who has also been injured in training. I could say more on that subject but it’s not worth the hassle you get on here.
Murphy, Scurr and Jowitt all went off injured. Nine injuries before the season starts. The mind boggles. Will Dawson-Jones face disciplinary action for his part in the argy bargey yesterday?

Given the infrequency of posters visiting here these days, not sure what hassle you think you’ll get?

Just a couple of sensitive souls who get wound up when I mention training injuries. I’ll try not to lose too much sleep over it…

Go on then, as a sensitive soul please enlighten us on the training ground injuries bearing in mind Scurr, Murphy and Jewitt were injured in a game, England (match injury 2021) and Kibula are still recovering from last seasons injuries, Doyle as I understand picked up a knock against Batley. As I understand, Hall and miller picked up hamstrings in training and Lilley had some kind of freak injury were his knee has gone running with no one near him. If there is a problem with training please let us know

As I said specifically, Lilley, Hall, Miller and Doyle are the ones who have been injured in training. I did “bear in mind “ that Murphy, Scurr and Jowitt were injured in a game and stated that very fact. Read my post again. My original post, that you took exception to, said “what on earth are they doing in training?” This is because I don’t know but thought it was a valid question. I still do, as it’s nothing new. Maybe there’s nothing wrong with training and we’re just incredibly unlucky. Not sure why you’re so affronted and tbh, whilst I don’t come on here to upset anyone, it’s almost impossible to avoid it in your case, which is exhausting.

I’m genuinely interested in whether or not there seems to be something amiss, possibly in training or is it just as you say, bad luck, which I would suggest with a couple of hamstrings pulls might be the case. Not sure with the rest whether these seem match standard injuries from games or down to other factors

Same here. It probably is bad luck. It’s just frustrating when there has been an effort to sign a reasonable squad given all the financial restrictions we have, and yet what seems like every week we hear that we’ve lost another player from a training incident. Hopefully it will settle down a bit going forward and these players will start returning from injury.

Have we heard any timeframe for Doyle or is it a ‘knock’?
