It's all gone very quiet regarding the proposed re structure for next season.
Is it still going to be all change or, can we afford to fund the current model after all.

Next season is so far away. No reason why they can't look at this say a month before it starts?

Sounds about right. Give everyone time to make plans and ensure that they dont go bust when the funding stops (or shrinks to the size of a gnats chuff).

Maybe they want to make sure that none of the favoured few are in strife, either in terms of "promotion" candidates or at the wrong end of the SL table.
Who knows, we may have a resurgent Toronto or other N. American club(s) to throw in the mix.

Once again RL looking like a well run sport with a long term strategy  .

We have no structure. As far as my eyes have always seen, we seem to play it by ear.

We don't even keep our legends involved in the game.

We choose the likes of Barrie and Terry over the likes of Schofield and Sculthorpe.

The Australians are so far in front of us at this sport it's embarrassing. We're either the second or third best nation at this sport on the planet yet we've not even challenged to be the best nation for 50 years.

I'll take nothing less than us winning the World Cup this year, anything less will be just as much as a failure as we've produced as a nation for the past 50 years.

It's time to stand up. That includes the Super league competition that needs to become far more competitive. Some of the clubs we have are embarrassing themselves. Time for other clubs to get to the level of St Helens and Wigan.

We can fund the current model because the rich club owners have very kindly put more into the game, especially a host of Championship club owners that are queuing up to try to get promotion to Superleague in what will be a very exciting Championship. The SL chairmen have chased other deals and outlets to show our games and have had success there, but hey let's not give credit where credit is due.

We can just make ourselves on here sound superior to them by slagging them off :D

Next season is looking good for the Superleague and the Championship which ultimately is Superleague 2.

As for League one, that will be where the real struggle will be.......

Is that a "no" to any change next season or, are we going to go with the proposed 2 x 10 structure ?
As for looking at other avenues, of course we should and this shouldn't just be when our backs are against the wall.

The next Sky deal is a huge drop and although the "hole" may be filled by some of the more wealthy backers using more of their cash, is this where the game is at .
As mentioned in the opening post. it's all gone very, very quiet and if there is to be significant change, the clubs, players and of course the fans should be informed about what may be
happening to the game.

As for the poster who suggests it's this year for the world cup or else. He must have been in hibernation.
It would take a miracle for England to lift the trophy. With our primary asset, the pack, getting older / retiring and with the new players not just as strong, s semi final exit is the best that we can realistically hope for.

decision will be made when the 'to be relegated' club is known.

As it stands clearly "NO" unless you think it would be acceptable at this late time, the RFL/SL coming out and saying something like 3 clubs will be relegated this season from SL...

Are you worrying about Wakey

Quite close,by your standards.
Some Championship clubs have overspend after falsely believing they had to finish in the Top 8 for the 2023 campaign- this no longer the case.
The RFL would appear to have negotiated, and won, the broadcast deals.

No reserves, but resilience, persistence and determination are omnipotent.

IF SL is going down to 10 clubs AND there is still to be promotion from The Championship, there will be 3 clubs relegated and that's before some bright spark decides that "other criteria" are more important than results.

Given the success of the last 2 changes in format, RL really needs another restructure, the games profile is coming on leaps and bounds
