I would have thought as probably the most decorated player in his sport for a generation and his monumental effort for a charity a knighthood would have been a fitting honour. Maybe I'm wrong. Not that I agree with the honours system which is rotten to the core.

I concede I didn't know that and defer to both you and ccs for clarifying the matter. However, the wider issue for me is how rugby league is overlooked compared to other sports when it comes to these honours.

In my opinion Sinfield should have been Knighted last year. A remarkable man.
