Wrencat and co just sit back and criticise whilst offering nothing in return or as an alternative. They remind me of the regulars at the end of the bar in the workingmen's club moaning about the committee, or equally leading the opposition party.

I propose that the most senior members of the government don't engage in Christmas parties whilst making such parties illegal for everyone else.
Furthermore I propose that the government stops handing out contracts worth billions to people who give them money.

Radical changes to the status quo I know, but no doubt Chissywissy and JONNY on here will defend them to the hilt as ever.

Shall we pull together a quick list of the standard defences of the TDL on here so that we have them to hand when they next use them?

1. Leave Boris alone, he's doing his best.
2. This really terrible thing you're talking about is simply "old news".
3. What about Jeremy Corbyn!
4. You lot just hate Britain (followed up by "how dare you, I never questioned anyone's patriotism!")
5. All you can do is criticise!
6. I'd like to see Labour do better!
7. This [massive scandal] isn't an issue outside the Westminster/Labour elites.
8. No laws were broken.

(3, 5, and 6 of course are just boiler plate versions of whataboutism, their absolute favourite debating tactic of all)

But where would be the fun in not being able to deny the innuendos :D
IF and it's a very big IF, in the unlikely event of the labour party ever coming into power, would your demands on the labour government giving out contracts be as stringent, mute point anyway as it will never happen :D
Forgive me but I was under the assumption that it was only the loony left what defends the indefensible on here, till I realised the labour party are only here to make up the numbers in the house of commons for the tv companies to boost they're ratings at the chimps tea party, and to make sure the viewing public get their full half hours worth.

This reminds me of Saints and Wigan fans thinking their periods of domination will last forever. How foolish they are. The demographics for the Tory party are jaw-droppingly bad so I really wouldn't get too excited lording it over what even in 2019 was a large majority of the electorate with different views.

Unfortunately you don't seem able to snap out of treating politics like you are supporting a sports team, desperately hoping your blue favourites win all the time and lashing out whenever they are criticised. I hope you won't mind me saying but it's really just very dumb, very simplistic behaviour.

Surely you are defending the indefensible, I bet you are one of the 9% that still believes that no party took place.
What about today when it was proved that da Pfeffel lied about his knowledge of the Downing Street apartment. He claimed the first he knew how it was funded was in February 2021 but WhatsApp messages show he was discussing it in November 2020.
The man is an habitual liar he can’t help himself but I guess whilst he has apologists like you he will feel vindicated.

Item 6 is highly relevant, obviously the tories are in complete disarray. So logically the voter will turn to the main opposition party which is the Labour Party. They will want to see if they have any any bright idea’s which will appeal to the nation. Will labour trot out the Marxist socialist garbage they presented at the last election ,or come up with something different. Immigration will be a major issue at the next election. At the moment several members of the Labour Party seem to favour an open door policy. Not certain that will go down well with the red wall voters. Reference criticism ,that works both ways, I merely mentioned to you that David Lammy was not very bright, predictably you came back with the tried and tested race card. Perhaps you could enlighten us with your ideas that labour could use to win the next election. I will help you out with one ,which should have happened years ago. Undertake mass building of social housing in decent areas linked to efficient public transport .
That would be a vote winner, labour had 13 years under Blair with cash in the bank and never lifted a finger. So both parties can share the blame on that failure.

Given the buffoonery in Parliament it strikes me as highly unlikely to be coincidence that the two MPs the right latch onto as emblems of this are Lammy and Diane Abbot. But there we go.

As for Labour, their policies are typically quite popular. The party isn't. That's the main issue they need to resolve.
