Quite right, no club outside Super League are guaranteed success, being full time last season did not deliver success for us, spending money on top players will not always bring success!

If every lower league club fans had strops every time they did not succeed, there would be no lower leagues game left.

We have had tough times in the past, we are still here! Leigh seem to be spending big money this season but I'm sure you will agree, it will not Guarantee Promotion! That's life.

Still only 27 announced (I use the term announced loosely). So 1 or 2 more left apparently.

Of course no one is guaranteed success, but you have to give yourself the best chance. Signing PT players from bottom placed teams will not do that.

I do not expect to see London "succeed" out of some divine right, but the way the club has been run into the ground, the way fans have been treated etc, then yeah I think people have a right to moan. We are a shambles on and off the pitch. If the club sort themselves out, then good luck to them but let's be honest, this coming season has disaster written all over it. If the club are serious, then lets see some proper marketing, gets fans in (keeping them with the side we have will be tough) but tbh, who expects the club to actually muster some worthwhile plans to get people in?? An email from Hughes saying bring a mate??

But we aren't a lower league club....we are moving to a SL ready ground in preparation for SL rugby with 5000 fans
,.........the fact doddery Dave has had to break his silence points to less than a clamour for season tickets or memberships..... this coming season will be a disaster on and off the park and fans are perfectly entitled to both vent as well as stay away.....which the assuredly will do.

If DH wants us to bring a mate, then he should provide a team we are likely to want to bring a mate along to see. Simple.

Given limited resources, how many fans would have spent money on using 3 facilities ahead of the playing squad ?

I noticed the reference to “L1 projects” or some such. I suspect many of these players will step up and be good un’s like Coates and Foster but the distinction between the L1 projects and the L1 non projects is quite a fine one. 2 or 3 projects yes but as it is I think about half the squad comes from L1 so it’s a little disingenuous.

In fairness he’s given his reasons now, I think there’s consensus on here that it looks like the wrong approach but we’ll have a much better idea as to the lay of the land once the Widnes game is over both in terms of on and off field performance. I’m hoping to go along with my son and see for myself - others might want to give it one last throw of the dice as well and then we’ll know.

He's a fool who has decided that rather than stay where we were, roll up our sleeves and actually do some work connecting with the west london community, he's moving us again to yet another area in the forlorn hope that soccer fans will watch one game and get hooked...... :FRUSRATED:
He employs badly........then he listens to the advice of these wage thieves. MacKay was a stone cold ball drop by Hughes and now he's doubled down, listening again to unqualified and incompetent people who will massage his ego by saying his dream of a Barcelonaesque unified london sports club is genius.....
Quiz Night is upon us o Thursday......I await the reports on how it's all going to be fantastic :DEPRESSED:

Are those the real reasons though ? Maybe he thinks the move to Wimbledon stands us in better stead for any SL restructure and he can get away with minimal spend on the squad in the meantime. The flaw in that plan is that to build the fan base he will need people to come more than once.
