I've used Egham Station Car Park so that wouldn't be an issue for your Dad distance wise, but the other end wouldn't be good, so certainly drive for convenience and cost if you attend.
The drop off point isn't great for drivers, but takes him to the door.
Five minutes suggests maybe 400m. Ideal is Waterside Way virtually opposite the stadium. Assume your Dad isn't the driver you can drop him off and the other adult 20m into the road (it's wide at the beginning). They can walk to the stadium. 200m on a non controlled crossing with dropped curb and a central (middle of the road) standing area, or 400m with pedestrian traffic lights. 20mph speed limit in Wimbledon and I'm sure many drivers would pause for your Dad. Main stand has stairs to enter, but your Dad will be allowed to use the lifts to hospitality if they are too daunting.
Meanwhile the diver is likely to find a spot in Waterside Way. It's a long road so lots of options. No parking restrictions (beyond yellow lines at some points) that I'm aware of. I think that's your best option.

Queens Road Car Park is a flat £2.50 on a Sunday. Only ever seen it full in December. 1.5 mile walk with bus or train (to Haydons Road) options.
Off road parking in multiple roads at about 0.5 miles away. Either no restrictions or Mon to Fri until 6:30pm. Industrial or park so not really used by residents. Parking available during week days, I suspects lots more on a Sunday.
Earlsfield station is closer than Wimbledon station, around mile (with bus options). Tooting Broadway Northern Line about a 20 min walk. Haydons Road 10 min walk but closed about every fourth Sunday. Kent travellers I suggest Northern Line on those days.
For the supporter from Egham you could walk, I did this year! Seriously I’d drive M25/A3 or cut through if you prefer. Should be 45 mins max if traffic reasonable.
I’ve driven to lots of places in London in the last 18 months that I’m not familiar with. Top of the list is can I guarantee to park. So I know the concerns of being “stuck”. Wimbledon wouldn’t worry me as there are many options. My only reservation may be is the driver mobile enough to walk a mile. If so he/she can worst case scenario drop off less mobile passengers at the ground before parking.
Based on the projected attendances I honestly think the local non residential roads will more than suffice. Unless the attendances are huge and even then I assume a lot of away support with very limited numbers of them driving I’d guess.
There actually is a lot of parking in the ground. The catch is that it’s available if only the main stand (4,000+) is used. If away fans get their own stand, it’s tricky, but MIGHT be feasible. Lots of cars in the stadium (officials, players) etc for AFC Wimbledon ladies with attendance around 1,600. No segregation though and beer allowed (not allowed at men's league games of course) at our seats
Could always go online and look for a Just Park parking space.

Agree! As long as he remembers what Wigan did to Chris Hankinson! streets of Wigan are not all lined with Gold!
The fault lies at The RFL door, ANY Super League Club signing a player Under the age of 20, should pay a compensation fee, minimum £2,500, that's pocket money to them.
Was thinning along with Wigan poaching from us, are we likely to suffer the same from Hudds now they have Tommy T on their staff? With his knowledge of our Academy players I think we could lose a few lads to them too. Sadly.

In my BARLA days Clubs were supposed! to pay amateur clubs £50 when signing amateur BARLA players, the number of clubs we had to chase, and they never did part with just £50
Not heard much from Amateur clubs about paying the membership fee to the RFL? someone else refers to WW1, well the RFL are a bit like that, only the generals, clueless!
