Regarding Kear I've always said be careful what you wish for, for those wanting him gone. I always find the style of play conversation interesting with Kear branded a dinosaur and and some of the younger coaches playing "off-the-cuff", yet reading Yorks forum last season, their fans seemed frustrated at their style. Ironically for us it was our defence we seemed to struggle with last season which is the area you'd always say was Kears strongest point.
I think Bullseye comments are spot on. Kears brought stability and probably a respect to the club. We were a L1 side who had hit rock bottom when he took over. We now seem stable (which came with a big bump in the road) and since that time we've earned promotion back to the championship, and now competing in the play-offs, as well a cup victory over Leeds in there as well. I think we'd have all taken that when Kear came through the doors of a L1 club on its knees. Don't get me wrong there's been some frustrations there, particularly having a poor record in the "crucial games" but I think Kears done alright.
Next season will be interesting. Kear wants us to go up another level. We should have finished third this year so are in a decent starting position, and I think our signings will all improve us. So I think there's more pressure on Kear to deliver, particularly on those crucial bigger games.

There's been turnover in the backroom staff. The S&C coach has gone to Wakey, the physio has gone to be assistant 1st team at wakey and the assistant physio has gone to be assistant 1st team/academy physio at Newcastle. That makes something like 3 physios and 3 S&C coaches we've had in 3 years.

Well Wakey must be aspiring to match our levels of fitness then!
Hope we're planning to fill these new vacancies.

Since Hirst was appointed earlier this year, it always looked like his and Beatties roles overlapped, so maybe not a huge surprise. Leigh Beatties strength was always in coaching. Not sure how comfortable he was with the politics involved in being Head of Youth. Hopefully this arrangement will suit both of them.
I think he will struggle to get a SL club this season. If no offers come Feb time wouldn't be a surprise to see him sign for a Championship club. How many players can realistically cope without a salary?,
