Possibly a bit of both. Any new management style will inevitably but someones nose out of joint. Hodgsons style clearly didn't work for Faraimo hopefully it will with our remaining players.

Seems a bit of sour grapes to me. Fonua was one of our top earners and was picked to start the season.

Swift was one of our most consistent players last year.

Hodgson had no issue dropping Fonua about 3/4 games in for Faraimo after a slow start.

On the subject of players having digs at coaches

Saw this in an interview with Connor on thr clubs site:

Brett Hodgson has taken a slightly different approach at the start of pre-season training this year, incorporating some ball handling drills into the early stages of the schedule.

“My first five or six pre-seasons here at Hull, we didn’t touch a ball for the first four weeks and I found that to be like torture,” he explained.

“At the end of the day, we are all rugby players and we want the ball in our hands.

Hopefully our skill level is improved next season.

Maybe prefers having a coach who’s a “mate” as well

Been a lot of chatter from Cas in the off season. Let’s see how things pan out.
I’m pretty happy with the professional approach of BH.

Leeds have just signed, Austin and Sezer, that’s why Gale left. As for The NRL, it just might be, that he doesn’t want to go halfway around the world, to play rugby, lots of players haven’t hacked it. Erm, Wire haven’t won Super League despite 4 finals, granted he has a better chance with Leeds but have faith, we may surprise a few, next season plus we haven’t got a clue which players we’re going after for 2023 season, we’re still guessing whether more players are coming for next season.

I think we'll go for Trueman, which might explain why we've only signed Austin for a season.

I'm not going to jump up and defend Hodgson because he's shown nothing so far. I'm firmly unconvinced. I think Gale will implement some different structures and set moves based around his own game and hopefully we'll not look the exact same product that we have for the last 2 seasons.

Not quite sure what to make of that piece tbh. Smacks a bit of sour grapes that he’s gone to be honest but Fonua as one of if not the highest earners was going to be ahead of Faraimo to begin with. Though he was then given his chance after Fonuas poor performances. Faraimo was never going to trouble Swift for a wing spot so it was between him and Fonua at the start and Fonua got the nod.

Always liked Faraimo tbh but reading that it’s probably a good thing he’s left but certainly not classy to bag the coach. Radford seems to have assembled his mates so let’s see how that plays out for Cas, as it seems he’s just repeated everything he did at Hull even down to painting the training facility.

Hopefully we will see big improvements this coming season now BH has had a year under his belt and has shaped the squad a little.

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

I thought we played well, until pandemic struck. Good defence and the spine worked well, so to say he’s shown nothing is a bit unfair. Those first games were like a breath of fresh air. Pity it all came tumbling down and some players, obviously told they weren’t needed decided to bunk off.

Some good points from Chris71, Radford has just got the band back together.
Might get them two Wembley wins, but could also get them record losing runs and record defeats.
The media seem to like his Everyman approach though. And his painting skills.

I’m glad we went in a different direction.

So faraimo played 15 of 21 games and toys are out the pram, good riddance to an obvious attitude problem.

Maybe your lack of pace, and frequent knock ons bring the ball out contributed to you missing 6 games you poor soul.

Won't be missed
