Forgot about Connor. Griffin is a handy kicker too isn't he?
Providing he can stay fit for most of the season I'm pretty happy with this. Will offer something completely different to Sneyd. More of a running threat, better passer, good varied kicking game. It will be nice to see us move away from high kicks to the corner every 5th tackle (however Gale still has that kick in his locker anyway). Sneyd has been poor the last couple of years and even his field kicking has gone downhill a touch. If he can stay fit this is definitely an upgrade in my opinion. Him and Reynolds together (again, IF FIT) could be a brilliant partnership which will keep teams guessing.

He can kick but hasn't been needed much with Sneyd and Connor, then McNamara was third choice this year. Griffin kicked three from three in a game against Huddersfield in 2020.

Be surprised if we get 10 games out of him next season, another poor signing. It’s always if he can stay fit blah blah blah with our half back signings, 9 times out of 10 their dont

Whether he is a success or not his signing is just filling the gap for next season. I expect to see two new half backs for 2023. Had Sneyd not departed i doubt he would have been kept on for 2023

We should sign Hampshire as cover for Gale and Reynolds
I'm just glad we're actively trying alternatives to players who are on the decline or not performing consistently any more.
Well done to Pearson and Hodgson identifying weaknesses and being pro active, all signings come with an element of risk, not all work out, but at least we arnt throwing 3 or 4 year deals at players who clearly need moving on and replacing.
I'd gladly take Gales all round game over Sneyds inconsistent kicking game, for 1 season if it means we have more time to prepare a new half back pairing for the season after. It's given us over 12 months to identify and negotiate with possible targets.
Yes Sneyd has been great in the past, but was it only me who thought his kicking was terrible for most parts last season? No running game and passing left alot to be desired, so when your only real weapon starts failing, the writings on the wall. The games evolved we need more well rounded players in the spine. Keep Gale fit and we have an upgrade on Sneyd imo
Wouldn't actually mind Mason Lino, season after this
While I've yet to see alot of Lovodua, the other 3 are upgrades for me and I expect Lovodua to be an upgrade too.

No you are correct, Sneyd's kicking game was at best average last season.

To be honest there is a question mark on Gales fitness but we signed Jones who as no such issues and was a player in top form. Yet he must go down as one of the worst signings in the SL era in terms of performance etc.
Whilst there is a gamble in bringing Gale in because of his injury history over the past few years it changes our dynamic as a team and should see us be much less predictable and more adaptable in games.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

Yeah this is total BS, but then you know that don't you.
