We often get into the oppositions 20 but then flatter to deceive and fail to get pts on the scoreboard and Gale will certainly improve us in that area as he has a much better running and short kicking game than Sneyd. Gales injury record is a concern but the club seem to have taken that into account with only an initial year deal. Yes it could be a gamble but we’ve asked for change and AP & BH have done well considering the contract situations. I’d rather have Gale for a year with tine to look for a top replacement for 2023 rather rush it fit the sake of it. Injury record aside Gale certainly improves us over Sneyd.
Sneyd has been a great servant for the club and will remain in the history books of being one of the immortals. I’m pleased we seem to be more pragmatic in our approach rather than sentimental.

You really believe that this has all come about because supporters asked for change?

We now have two pivots , well over 30 and who have appalling injury records, Gale admittedly only last year .
Gale was also injured long term for 2 seasons out of his last 3 at Cas, before joining us (Leeds)
He was great for us in 2020 though but then missed so much of 2021 with 3 bad injuries (torn pec in pre season, then broken thumb then medial knee injury finished him off) inbetween those injuries he had 2 suspensions and then the training ground fall out with Agar that saw him stripped of the captaincy.
IF you get the Gale of 2020 he will be great for you and offer everything that you didn’t get with Sneyd..but if you get the 2021 version...

No and that’s not what I was meaning. What I was meaning was fans have been asking for change and now we have changes so as fans we have got what we’ve been asking/wanting. ATEOTD the clubs need the backing of fans and no doubt the club are aware that fans weren’t happy with performances not the owner or coach so needed to act to improve.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

You could argue that two of the biggest earning high profile players who were not performing last year where Fonua & Sneyd - moving both on is great business, ruthless and without sentiment which is what we've been asking for for ages.
I said when we signed Lovadua and Evans that nothing would change at the club and to still expect the same play next season and a finishing position of 8th-9th but with the signing of Gale I'm excited to see that our same old same old boring play is gonna change. We all know it's a risk but I doubt Reynolds will have as bad a season as his first and now with Gale I feel much more optimistic moving forward

Hasn’t played since doing his knee in August against Leigh but Agar confirmed the other day that all our players would be back and ready to start pre season training later this month...apart from Liam Sutcliffe
