Why would it be in his favour? That makes no sense.

Gale was clearly not going to get regular game time at Leeds.
Who knows what has been said and done at the Rhino's and if they are paying some of his marquee money.

Good signing, it has to give us more attacking options. I think we got used to Mark and just accepted the same stuff from him as all his kicking was so good. But his attacking stuff wasn’t great.
He didn’t take the line on enough for me, and in 7 years how many clean breaks did he make ?
We became too easy to read I think.
I’m Looking forward to some variation from Gale at the play the ball, and in the red zone.
I’m hoping we’ll see more of us running which is what I love us to do.
Just to a have that greater threat at pivot is enough for me to look forward to the new season.

Yes of course it will.

September 2022:

Luke Gale: "Hi Adam, I'm triggering the second year of my contract"

Adam Pearson: "Hi Luke, well I'm not sure to be honest, we were going to see what other options are out there but if you insist".

Mentioned on another thread we should be more direct with Gale and Lovodua instead of Sneyd and Houghton.

Gale has a more rounded game than Sneyd, I just hope he plays most of the season.

It's so helpful of our friends from the dark side to explain the deal for us

Admittedly I have no knowledge of this deal so maybe Gayle has agreed that a certain number of appearances would trigger an extra year, that's possible.

He certainly will not have agreed to be left at the whim of Hull who can then discard no matter what if it suits them. Why would he do that? Surely you can agree with me on that.

What's not in dispute is that you have paid money to Sneyd to leave. This is a 30 year old player who has been a regular matchwinner for you in favour of a 33 year old with a shocking recent injury record and on massive wages which Leeds will NOT be subsidising.

Gale blossomed for a while under Powell at Castleford but has been underwhelming at all his other clubs and has been injured most of the time for the past 3 years.

I warned you that Reynolds was not the player of a few years ago and would likely miss loads of games through injury. You didn't believe me but now I'm saying the same about Gale but with knobs on.

You need to hope that McNamara has a step change in performance because with Reynolds and Gale as your first choices he'll be playing big minutes in 2022.

I couldn't hear the robin sing if not for you.

Sneyd asked to leave. We granted his wish. Salford paid no fee. We're not paying part of his salary. We never paid a fee for Gale.

On the Leeds forum they say he was great in his first season with them.

He played 17/21 in 2020 and kicked the match winning DG in the Cup final.

Interesting article in the Yorkshire Evening Post

Quote:Leeds Rhinos won’t receive a fee from Hull following Luke Gale’s shock transfer - but chief executive Gary Hetherington says he has left “with our best wishes”.

Hull announced his signing at 6pm on Friday, around six hours after the Yorkshire Evening Post revealed a move was on the cards.

They say Gale, 33, has penned a one-year contract. The Evening Post understands that is likely to be extended into 2023 if the move works out.

1. Sneyd wouldnt have had a payout as he has got a better deal elsewhere hence why he would have agreed/asked to leave knowing next year would have being his last.

2. Gale can come here as a starter and extend his career longer if he performs. At 33 you want to play every week especially in a world cup year. So they will be no major money involved.

3. The option will be in the clubs favour and Im sure Gale will back himself.

It amazes me that one minute you claim we are skint then the next say we are paying mega money.
