Been around him 3 x times in my life

All 3 times he was an absolute bell end

1st time Mike Gregory and Dennis Betts came over to get him away from starting a fight, bought us some drinks and threw him out of a pub (1991ish)
2nd time he thought he'd get his revenge and king hit my mate in a pub from behind (He was with Botica and and his wife and after my got up and pummelled him we had a chat with Botica and he explained he was always like that)
3rd time at Mike Greg's funeral, he stayed behind in the pub when all the other players left to walk to the church/funeral. He (and 2 other players, 1 of which won't surprise you) came in 10mins or so after the funeral started, stood at the back and spent the next 15 mins or so burping and making stupid noises trying to make everyone laugh.
Horrible bloke

I thanked him and went on my Merry way!

The Guy admits alcohol and drug abuse, and we all knew about the drinking when he played, but hey its the RFL’s fault, yes head injuries are a concern going forward and back, but some off these Enfant terrible players like Goulding need to take some responsibility for their own lifestyle choices and behaviour.

Agree and you would hope these ‘mitigating factors’ are taken into account when deciding, if and who’s claim for action are more or less legitimate than others.

I don't think it will go like that. Either the game will be held responsible for all long term damage from head knocks or they won't.

Arguing alcohol abuse may only reduce any payout. I would guess the ruling for RL, RU & Soccer will be the long term damage was not forseeable..........

Yes that’s basically what I said. Mitigating circumstance ie drug and alcohol abuse will be taken into account just as heavy smoking is taken into account when considering work place cancer cases.

It doesn’t devolve them of blame but it will be taken into account.
