Perhaps because it’s not a recurrence of his original knee injury but a similar injury to his other knee, both he and the club feels he can go round again. I did read when he got the injury, is it an ACL, he stated that, if it had been a recurrence of his original injury he would have retired, is this where the rumours started?

In essence this has probably been a signing with Hodgson agreement, and whilst we needed strengthening in the halves, while not being a knee jerk reaction, it’s looking very disappointing now.
It makes me wonder, when we get in these negotiations for star quality players, we are not being guided correctly, injury does happen, as with say Bevan French, but the difference between the two players is poles apart, is French paid that much more than Reynolds, I don’t pretend to know.
I suspect it will hinge on what was in his contract, especially regarding the number of appearances in his first season. If he didn't reach the target, then it may simply be a case of invoking the relevant clause.

I’ll alter that appearance number as ccs says it was 14 not 8.
We only won 2 games Reynolds didn't play in, he does seem to bring enthusiasm and lift others around him...it's just a case of getting him onto the pitch more....a bit like when we had Adam Dykes back in 2008? A good player, just suffered a lot with injuries.

Reynolds is quality , if fit . Unfortunately, that’s a big if ! A bit like Dykes was .

How long now since the club said it was gonna get rid of a few players and bring fresh faces in? Because I see only Fonua leaving which won't of been cheap and the new hooker Lovadua coming in - Hardly a great over haul is it. Still no prop we've needed for all of last season and this off season.
Loads of players will miss preseason or even the start of the season coming back from injury. We'll likely have Sneyd and Mcnamara in the halves and pretty much the same team.
I know there's time to go for signings to come in and players to leave but it ain't looking good at all for the start of next season
