What a joke! So we're stuck with a rule that now penalises a team for interference with as little as 1 extra tackle and no kick to touch. Slowing down the PTB on the 1st and 2nd tackle is now a tactic that can be beneficial to the defending team with effectively no punishment. It could only happen in our sport.

They may decide to tweak it. For example, in your own 20/30 metres, if a team is purposefully holding down to set their line etc. then maybe a penalty to clear your lines should be given

It doesn't need tweaking, it needs binning

It's not just a move from the scrum though,even if you only make 10m from the scrum play,the next 2 or 3 plays are often against an unset defence as the forwards have to sprint back 20m to get onside. They add an element of fatigue to the game and doubt in defence. It will open the game up more as lets face it the restarts now benefit the defence and stifle the game.

Good post, agree, glad scrums are back, and happy with the set restart rule staying. Just needs reffing better, sl as become so slow over the last several years, anything that speeds it up, is a plus. Really hope the refs stop been so pedantic

What is your opinion on the current SL ' Roll the ball back between the legs' PTB situation?

I think the ball should be made with the foot at the PTB and not rolled with the hand. It would force players to be on their feet and in control.

At the moment the rolling back of the ball leads to too many inconsistencies in infringements from the referees.

I’m happy as long at an attempt as been made, simply rolling between your legs should be penalised
