Premier Soccer has had 7 winners in 30 years
Onion has had 8 in 26 years
Cricket has had 9 different county champs in 15 years
NBA 10 in 15 years
NFL 10 in 10 years.

What can the game do to break this stranglehold?

There's some glimmer of hope with 7 different teams winning the LLS since 2012 - maybe there needs to be a bit more prestige attached to that, rather than the knock-out finale.

Definitely. The Stones Bitter Premiership double header always attracted a full house.

I’d like to see something like the NFL draft system but for the salary cap. The team that finishes bottom gets an extra £200k to spend, second bottom £175k and so on.

For me its a bit of a false dawn, I think only 2 teams that have won the LLS have gone on to win a Grand Final in the last 10 years. Leeds had a couple of years were they were not intereted in the LLS as long as they got to the play offs.

Parts of the season sometimes it feels like the regular rounds are glorified friendly games of dull, low intensity and quality standard........for me that doesn't give the LLS prestige value compared to the past.

I also think thats why SKY have not been too happy of the dross served up in the regular rounds and hence lost value.

The teams at the bottom can’t afford to spend any extra.

The game needs to decide what the salary cap is there for? Is it to there to make sure the competition is competitive top to bottom or is it to stop clubs going bust?

The game shouldn't need a salary cap to make sure clubs don't go bust.

I don't understand the logic that a removal of the cap will see clubs spending money they don't have to compete when many of these clubs don't even spend up to the small salary cap we currently have.

Why would these clubs suddenly start to spend beyond there means?

If we are going to have a cap there needs to be a mandate that clubs must spend a minimum amount.

Yet GB had a miles better team full of world class talent when only 1 team was dominant.
