The skill level on display is simply not good enough. The game continues to lose forwards to the NRL but they have no interest in full backs or half backs as the sport doesn't produce world class players in those positions.
When I was but a lad a lot of Rugby League was played in schools that fed straight to clubs junior and intermediate teams, when I grew older BARLA came along and a lot of amateur RL was played, in fact there was an explosion of it.
Then in later years all forms of Rugby and Football declined rapidly. Today not a lot of people play RU or RL. 2 x 10 is not Rimmers invention it's Lenegan's.......
The standard is declining but the blame can't be put on anyone "in charge" wether JJB or Ralph Rimmer, it's just social change........
Does the Premiership maintain high levels of skill and excitement through selecting only English players? Even they have to import talent in droves nowadays....
