I have rated him ever since I saw him play for the GB academy side that beat the ozzies but Abdull is a good player, his kicking both out of hand and from the tee is brilliant and he’s adding more to his game, id have him over Miller at Wigan.

I made my points why I wouldn’t go too high to get Williams back a few weeks ago. A good player but too many weaknesses to pay silly money to. A player who I can very rarely remember excelling in the biggest games. A fit and in form Sam Tomkins is worth silly money but Williams isn’t.

Nail on the head.
Good player on his day, but not the guy to boss a big playoff game. Not worth his reported billing as the highest paid player in SL.
1/4 of the player Sam is. Shame Wigan fans don't fawn over that lad like they did the Judas tho.

Let’s not pretend otherwise.
He has taken the money and who can blame him.
I don’t get this desire to drag him down.
There’s going to be a desire to see him crash, that’s only natural. He is a good player no question but I don’t think it’s dragging him down to suggest he’s not worth being the highest paid player in superleague. The real top class players have moments in their careers in big games, big finals etc that define them. He’s not had those yet. Maybe they’re yet to come but say Sam Tomkins and I think Grand Final 2010, Challenge cup semi and final 2011, Challenge cup final 2013. It’s the same for guys like Burrow, Maguire and heck even Dan Sarginson but Williams has never really gripped a big semi (that sounds horrendous ) or final and made it his own.

He isn't tho. He really isn't.
He's a good player and can, at times, be very good. He's not however, outstanding. Or isn't on a consistent basis. Btw this isn't a bias thing. I'll begrudgingly say that rival players were outstanding - Long & Briers jump to mind from a HB PoV.
I don't know if the rumours are true but 'talk is', GW is up there as the highest paid player in the league. Is he worth a Maloney or Tomkins money? Not for me he isn't.
This isn't aimed at you, but if you ask the opinion of some Wigan fans they'll slate truly outstanding players like Bateman, or Tomkins and laud over Williams. I'd be comfortable betting my house that, if there was a poll of NRL fans of 'who would you prefer - Bateman or Williams' that Bateman would win by 95%. Likewise, Williams being in Sam's pay bracket is laughable.
Maybe it's a product of Sky and the way they sell the game, but there's a lot of bang average players who get talked up well above their station.

I’d take Abdul every day of the week before before Hastings and an aging Tomkins. Williams looks aged with an over inflated ego He’s a genuine team player Abdul and puts our HB including Hastings to shame. I absolutely loved the kick over the top tonight by HKR. Wigan and Wire athletes haven’t got the grey matter or the attitude to even contemplate such a simple task. Rugby today is played by “athletes” rather than rugby players
Thank god for rugby players and coach at HKR. Loved tonight’s performance God luck in France
