I think Peachey would of been ideal if we could open up another quota spot, has good hands and creativity.
I would of definitely not renewed Mau, and used his spot and wage for Peachey who would of been much more effective in terms of improving our attack. But our recruitment/renewal strategy is what it is........
As it stands with only 1 quota spot available, I think its crucial we use it on a hooker or a 7. There are so many factors involved though such as players under contract and big questions on if you can move them on, it makes the retention we ve done all the more baffling.
My guess is we l waste it on an overseas prop, when we could probably pick up 2 effective domestic props if we look hard enough.

His salary plus overseas spot would open up alot of things for us. When you add in Ma'u we would have alot more room to manoeuvre
Do we even contact potential signings before offering what we've got renewals, I don't get our recruitment process it's almost scattergun and short sighted.

You'd like to think we do. The Fonua deal looks like the worst bit of business the club has done in a long while.
Ties up a chunk of the cap and overseas spot for 3 years. Is a shadow of the player he was.
I think if he loses the bravado and always hunting the Hollywood showcase reel and just plays to the system his coach wants to he can still be a big player, unfortunately I think his ego just doesn't allow it.
Prime example trying to take Hurrell on on the outside with no space, wanting to prove he could over power him, on the 2nd tackle in our 30, absolute brainfarts fed by bravado, same with constantly leaving the line looking for the big hit..
