Sneyd is an organiser, not a creative half and is long range kicking will always be hard against a beaten pack. Look at the metres made this year and then tell me this pack has done its job.
Hes not perfect but he is not the problem, there is about 10 players if not more I would get rid of. You cant slate him either for playing to his strengths either. I couldnt care less if he kicks or passes, he is creating opportunities and he isnt the problem. Anyone who thinks replacing him would change this team are seriousley uneducated about Rugby League and I dont care how long youve watched for.
Sneyd is the whipping boy at hull. It's plain to see he isn't our main problem. But that's all you here. We do love a whipping boy

I expect us to sign a big name player, probably an aussie and a couple more fringers then expect the supporters will be reignited and all throw the money at the club to buy season tickets - our owner and third rate coach will say were aiming high, biggest spend blah blah blah....... Its a well tried formula that FC fans lap up, the season will start well then will fall apart with a decent run in the challenge cup that nobody gives two flucks about. Then that will repeat and so on and so on.............

Everyone getting arseholed tonight then?
It’s far from doom and gloom, not sure what a luxury player is, need a couple of big lads and some luck with injury/covid and we’re relatively sorted. Not quite sure on Hodgson yet but the squad seemed happy and up for the graft before the wheels fell well and truly off the season. Sneyd has got a lot of stick on here of late but get him behind a dominant pack and the sun still shines from his arris.
As for the club, I’ve not had a season pass for three years with working away and then covid running me in to the ground (subby engineer). I have a lot of clients in Hull and in their offices the story seems to be the same; build it and they will come. I’m probably of the same thinking where if covid is relatively quiet and Hull look serious about going for some silverware I’ll be getting a pass even if I can’t make it to all the games.

He is a whipping boy, plenty of other players have been criticized this season, Teyjokds, Fonua, Reynolds and some fringe players like Bowden and Scott.
7 is such an important position and he has not performed well enough the last 3 years, we arent taking about a few games, we are talking about 60 plus in which he has played well in only a handful.
People keep saying he is good enough, but never back it up with anything.
As mentioned there has been plenty of times our pack has put us in the position but Sneyd and the pivots havent been good enough and relied on a bomb or Connor.
What does Sneyd bring to the team?
What other halfback in the league cant make a break or put a player through the gap, where is his short passing game, why cant he do a cut out pass like other halfbacks.
His defemce is awful,ok halfbacks arent known for defence, but is there another halfback who misses one on one tackles as much as Sneyd.
His kicking including goal kicking and certainly drop goals has been very inconsistent.
So at the moment, what does Sneyd bring to the team.
I think we are stuck with him for next season, so he has to improve or he should not be in the 13.
We certainly have other problems but IMO our main issues has been creativity and that comes down to the 1, 6, 7 and 9.
Some fans just cant seem to find fault with Sneyd.

Far be it from me to stick up for Sneyd, I think he's been awful to but going off super league stats these halfbacks have missed more tackles. Maloney 76 Miller 73 Lolohea 55 H Smith 54 Widdop 51
Sneyd is 19th on the list with 48 & the 10th best half back for assists with 13 compared to Connors 21.

This year Maloney, Miller, Lolohea and Widdop, last year Lolohea, Miller, Gale, Maloney, Richardson, Austin, Sezer all missed more tackles.

Drop goals have been hit and miss this season although he was joint top in SL for them last season, top in 2019, second in 2018 (despite missing half the season), fourth in 2017, second in 2016 and top in 2015 so probably the best in SL in the last six years.
The comment on goal kicking is just not true, Dave. He had that wobble in the Leigh game missing four in a row but his success rate this year is 80%. It was the same % in 2020. 2019 was 83%, 2018 was 81%, 2017 was 87%. Also worth pointing out that he's only missed seven games in three seasons.
His passing is the weakness but then you could point to weaknesses in most half backs.

Ive stopped this discussion, its like talking to a brick wall.
We are 11th overall for metres and in the bottom half for attacking kicks. That alone tells you we play the majority of our games in our own half. Despite tge fact he never brings oht to the table (lol) he finds himself in the top 20 for try assists year after year. He also the player that creates the space for Connor.

Guess he’s not as bad as a lot have tried to say. I was reading Wire fans reaction to Hill leaving and one fan said there pack is small as it is and will be bullied next season, if their only signing is Joe Bullock, which will mean their halves won’t be as effective. FC’s pack haven’t been as dominant as some are trying to make out apart from the first few games, when most were fit. Then Covid hit, the training facilities were shut as some seem to forget. Cohesion and fitness suffered especially for big Chris. Sneyd’s a proven organiser and match winner and when FC are at something like full strength and have all pivots playing, they’re a match for any team in Super League. This season’s been a debacle. Let’s get it over with and hopefully the usual suspects will calm down and perhaps buy a season pass for once, at least then they’ll be justified in having a rant now and then. I’m off to watch the game shortly and will no doubt be drowning my sorrows in the pub afterwards
