Say hi to Paddock for me.....

Honkytonk wrote:Would be good to find out the plans for the playing squad next season. PT/FT. Have we started the ball rolling re next years squad. Likewise the coaching team

Yep....and hopefully you'll get a straight answer.
If anyone fancies it, could they ask the club if there is a tangible fan for self sufficiency through fan and sponsor income or if we're going to continue to rely on Hughes and his moods?
Also. What are the targets in terms of attendances next year and what are the consequences of failure (or rewards for success)

Didn't get the invite but happy for my thoughts to be fed into discussion.

I have had a season ticket since SL2 (apart from a year at The Hive) but I didn't renew this season for a few reasons (i) uncertainly over where games would be played (ii) unjustified price rises (iii) uncompetitive squad and (iv) general poor running of the club.

While I have not been to Trailfinders this season, I have enjoyed watching the academy and women's team play at Richmond.

I believe RL can generate a sustainable crowd in London provided the team is competitive, the match day experience is good and the game is well promoted. Unfortunately these things have not been in place for several years. The team that got promoted to SL achieved way more than the sum of its parts (which was great) but the club failed to build on that and has now lost that successful coaching team.

While we have done well to bring players through the academy system to the first team, unless we can retain the better players for longer this is not providing the basis of a competitive side.

The club needs to create and share a medium term plan (3 to 5 years) and also take more responsibility to help shape the long term future of the game in London as a whole.

I don't know why the club saw another ground move as a priority this season. Particularly when this meant different facilities being required for training, academy etc. Perhaps if the club was to explain its plans and consult supporters this would be more apparent. From the outside, it seems this should have been a season for consolidation and re-establishing core support post lockdown.

We are totally reliant on David Hughes support. How long can this continue, it seems like everything is increasingly done on the cheap ? My concern is he does little to secure the future of the club beyond his tenure but again the club do not communicate any plans so it is difficult to know the direction we are headed.

There are plenty of other things to do in London, the club needs to do much more to be a success.

Gus Mackay we salute you!!

I can not understand when we have 2 supporters clubs why they are not being used to inform the club about the problems they have keeping supporters. I was under the inpression that the BOSG was setup to keep the club updated with supporters thoughts on how the club was being run.

As I asked earlier...are there targets with rewards and consequences at the club?

The OFFICIAL Supporters group, AKA Monkeyboy's Clique seems established as to only defer away from the LBSA, which as I understand it, actually provides a revenue stream for the club in the shape of paid shirt sponsorship of the academy. I'd also point out that the LSBA has a LARGER presence on Social Media platforms Twitter & Facebook, whilst their INSTAGRAM page is a series of photo's of the same half dozen or so people......although I did Like a post from a while back claiming that "The Team" are busy working on the next BOSG newsletter
Then there's the FB rules for their page....including....Any post having a go at London Broncos or it's staff, will be deleted....oops....that's a non starter then

Oh...the Official group appear to have a Drum

In short. Setting up the BOSG would have given the impression that Monkeylad was busy working away to promote the club to a casual observer or in this case, Doddery Dave.......Swintons finest probably has a BOSG Mug on his desk at home which makes him feel all warm and fuzzy.

Simplest of questions for the dynamic duo when you meet them.....

what will be considered a success in 2022 in terms of:
1. fan attendances,
2. paid fan attendance,
3. ST sales,
4. INCOME from shirt sponsorship
5. Table position at seasons end.

...straight forward enough.....5 answers that if they aren't given, point to there being no fqrking plan yet again!

As I see it this meeting has been arranged by the club, with the "Angry Brigade". Those that have been critical of the club.
No point in having the members of the BOSG members there. They would just lick booty.

I also have a suggestion. London really need to rebuild the fan base, so I would offer a super low ST price for next year (on the understanding it was a 1 year deal only, and the price would increase in 2023). In this way people would not be surprised in 2023 if the price went up, and it might get quite a few fans back in 2022.

Something like £150 \ £100 \ £25 ((full price \ concession \ under 16) for 2022 to those who bought season tickets in 2019 \ 2020 \ 2021. Then for new ST holders make it like £175 / £125 / £25 (full price \ concession \ under 16). Charge £18 \ £12 \ £5 (free for under 11's) on the door.

2022 has to be about getting fans back in, and I'd aim to do that in one part by charging a really good deal on tickets, with the comms that 2023 would be an increase in ST costs (to like £180 for instance), but give people 12 months awareness.

I'd also do something like £50 ST price for those who have a Dons ST as well. Or have your Dons ST allow you free access to 4 LB games.

Crash
I think you are right that getting in fans next year by hook or crook is crucial. I think a loyalty reduction for the few who bought this year is a smart move but I do think the prices you suggest are really challenging for the club- a loss leader. Having said that (a) I’ve worked out that to attend 8 games (if you count the TO performance) I’ll have paid £25 a go although I had quite good quality polo shirt and OL access. (b) The club spaffs money all over the place so this would be one of the smarter loss leaders.
When I say the ticket prices are challenging here’s an example of what I mean? Jason L was cornered by a supporter angry at the consequential loss to him ( train/ hotel whatever) of the Newcastle cancellation. JL mentioned that the club took a £4K bath on hotel costs. Now if you work out £20 a ticket that’s the equivalent of 200 tickets or 20 (of what 150?) STs to recoup that. On that basis I think the St prices they have now are about right with walk up adults £20 and kids/OAPs half that. I think it’s the “match day experience” they need to work on. Every time I think about going to an away game the prices do seem to be in or around £20 so for London not too bad.
