Not many other options, Houghton inconsistent as hell lately, looked shot against Huddersfield and Leeds then plays well against catalans.
Johnstone looked good under Last, but has done nothing under Hodgson.
Penny for Hodgsons thoughts.

I agree we need new life at hooker. Sure BH can see it if we can. The squad has been unbalanced for a few seasons now, so not an easy fix. Honestly can’t see finances allowing a new number nine when we already have two, unless Johnstone can be utilised in a different position.

Or JJ can be moved on or loaned out.

Roby just signed a new one year deal, so hopefully Lussick still available

We will have Roby and Lussick rotating next year, with Lussick taking over the year after.

I believe so - I was told it was done and dusted before Hopoate - though I suspect they have been waiting for Roby decisions before announcing it (as our fanbase loves a bit of melodrama). Wouldnt surprise me if the club announced it in the next week or two now Roby is announced. I also believe Smith has been told we wouldnt stop him looking for another club
The bigger question for us is the mystery two forwards supposedly signed as well.

Currently at Wests, Brett Hodgson connection, plus he's a good age. Not got much opportunity at 1st grade.

Typically plays in the back row, but played prop in the NSW Cup this season. Good Av metres, probably not good enough for the NRL and will hopefully know a bit about SL due to his dad playing for Saints

In and out of 1st grade. good age. I'm sure I read that he'd been offered round SL clubs before when he left Queensland.

Hasnt played big minutes for the knights. But when he has played over 20 mins he makes decent metres on average. Couldn't find any NSW Cup stats.
If we can get one of the first two names on the list I'd be pretty happy...
Ebon Scurr is another one we should be monitoring too. Young prop at Bradford going well, OOC and looking for a SL move
Dean Britt has been released from the Doggies.
