Couldn’t see the pass from where I was, but I thought he was in touch too.

The worst call by far was the “knock on” about 12 mins before the end when the ref said it went backwards. No idea how he got that wrong.

We said the same when he gave you 6 again at the end of the first half after a loose pass just hit our player and you scored from it. :D

Just reading back I see mentions about turning down 2 points from us a few times, its probably worth adding we don't have a goal kicker and Harris is just filling in as our 2 goal kickers are injured, I think we play it slightly different if they are on the field and probably don't miss that goal in front of the sticks after our 2nd try.

Well it was closer than I expected given the players missing from our side but at the same time disappointing to lose from a good winning position.

It’s those types of game where the control of a player like Brough would perhaps have seen us finish the game off. Nothing changes for us, we need to win enough games to make 3rd/4th and hope we have our key strike players fit by then. Need to string some wins together in the next few matches though, next few weeks could be crucial.

If it’s the same incident near the Fax 20 meter line when he bent forward to pick it up the ball bounced and actually came down off the knee and never touched the hands, in the follow up it was tapped backwards before being cleanly regathered and that’s what the ref ruled.
The match will be on the tube, see it for yourself.
Cracking game with both sides doing enough both to win it and lose it in equal amounts.

John Kear “It was a very quick and intense game, and a proper play-off standard one. I think everybody who’s attended can feel royally entertained.”

Exactly what Kear says, it were a good game from 2 teams who are down to the bare bones who put on a good game for the fans.

Sounds like an even contest on the radio with both sides making a lot of basic errors and a few decisions were a bit dodgy.

Overall not disappointed with the result as I expected a loss with our injuries but once again it shows what only having one proper half (in this game an injured half) does.

Keyes back next week along with Lilley. Revert Brown back to wing and we’ll look good. So should string together a few wins now and hopefully get Brough back for the back end of the year too. Hopefully come playoffs we’ll line up like this:

Pickersgill
Dawson-Jones
Evans
Oakes
Brown
Brough
Keyes
Crossley
Doyle
Fleming
Murphy
England
Hallas

Lilley
Evans
Scurr
Walker

Or something like that.

Assuming we make the play offs, I’d be surprised if Keyes is still with us by then.

In all honesty HKR won’t recall Keyes unless they have an injury crisis so given his current deal will take him to mid August at least when season has about a month left, apart from play offs I see no reason why Keyes can’t stay

Add Elliot Kear to that as well.

With Widnes & Newcastle both losing, the play-offs are looking pretty close to being secured. We have to manage the squad so that we're fit and ready for them. Important game next week just to nip this mini losing run in the bud as don't want to be stuttering into them either.

Dawson
Kear
Brough
Keyes
Nzongu
Evans
Fleming

All to come back

2 trys on a plate to Fax fom Lilley and Pickers.

Fax fans gloating about a mile forward pass for the winning try.

Nothing to worry about come play off time.
