75 post contact meters which put him 3rd for post contact meters despite coming off the bench.
Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.

I watched the game so you don't have to, NK
Mago was bloody good, and didn't look out of place in what is after all a top team, at all.

Good to hear. In normal times I’d be taking every opportunity to watch him and Ellis (if he gets picked) but I just can’t bring myself to do it. Yet another blow out score I noticed. It’s an issue that must be concerning the one eyed top brass at the NRL. Even before my one man boycott, I was turning off more games than I was sitting through.

Lightweight he may be but he, by some distance, is our best prop. Kinda makes your underhanded downplay of him mute, no?
You can ask “will they be this or that” all you - and we - want; ultimately we’ll not know until they’re here. Why don’t you just for once give them a chance?
Of course, I will give them a chance but the fact remains that signing of Prop Forwards from clubs within our own game and down under has not been good in the last few seasons.
We can only hope that Mago and Ellis are a improvement!

No it hasn’t, you’re being lenient by describing it as ‘not good’ to be honest. Certainly an extensive list of them - or expensive! The only recent prop we’ve signed from Aus is Jeff Lima. And recent is pushing it a bit considering it was 10years ago. But from what I’ve heard these 2 look like they could and should be what we need.

We signed Pettybourne, FPN and Hamlin since Lima that I can think of.
FPN gets some undeserved criticism in my opinion. He very rarely missed a game, played big minutes and did his work. Was he a world beater, no, was he a no mark, no. Sadly fans bought into the Frank Paul the wrecking ball!!

I think expectations were high, he’d had a good career in the NRL, had the nickname the wrecking ball and when he came over here towards the end of the season he had a really promising start after a large period of inactivity in Oz. I just think people expected him to be one of the top props in the league (I did anyway). He was a bit underwhelming in his second season but that was a disaster for the club and FPN was one of few who wasn’t plagued with injuries that year, he was also solid in defence and did decent minutes. For me he did okay but I expected more.
