Not sure how people can moan about the lack of injury updates.

Every week I ask John Kear for updates on the injury front and he takes the time to answer those questions at great length for the benefit of the supporters listening on the radio.

Perhaps it would be better just to say that you can hear an injuries update after each weekly interview I do with John Kear, anyway, here's the current situation...

Good news on the Covid-19 front, no more positive tests yesterday.

In the current era, if the club wants to keep fans engaged then it can’t rely on radio as the only channel for supporters to get updates.

If the half back we were meant to be getting was Keyes, it may be on hold with a further 8 players testing positive for Covid and their next two games postponed.

It is now looking very unlikely that we are going to see a new arrival in the halves before the Widnes game. It's slightly concerning that other teams have managed to strengthen their squads yet we still haven't managed to get anyone in.

Not everyone listens to the radio Mick. This wasnt a dig at you so put your dummy back in. It would be good if the club could publish something every few weeks to keep ALL fans updated not just your precious listeners.

I usually listen back on social media but MDJ and Levvy havnt been specifically mentioned for a while now. Ebon Scurr wasnt even mentioned in this weeks interview.

Iv'e said for years Rugby League should adopt the same system as the NFL have to release the status of all injured players, This is broken down into categories Questionable, Doubtful, Out or game day decision.

As much as we'd like to know we have no automatic right to that information.

If the player says he doesn't want the world to know then the club can't do anything about that without risking fines under the Data Protection Act.

Health is classified as Special Category data by the Information Commissioners Office so if the player says 'no' that's it. There is no necessary reason to process the data (send it out to the fans) that will over-ride.

I know as fans it's frustrating but the players have a right to privacy and not everyone wants to live their life on Instagram 'Smashing a Nando's' or giving a thumbs up in a hospital recovery room?
