End of the day to be successful we've got to be ruthless in evolving the squad, we can't just keep saying oh but he tackles all day, or oh but he might make a good winger. It's this mentality whereas you end up just wasting cap space. I think Hodgson is far shrewder than that.

Mau I'd keep on a reduced one year deal which looks as that's what happening
Houghton one more season for me then a full time replacement is found, I'm caught between do we use the overseas spot for an impact prop or do we sign someone like joey lussick

Shaul let go around 100k of cap tied up on a backup fullback , Macintosh can cover Connor
Bowden let go, doesn't look interested
Matongo let go
And if I could I'd move Fonua on to free up the chunk of cap and quota spot.

My thoughts would be towards an NRL or reserve grade prop or someone domestic like Pauli Pauli to come on and be a handful with size and power, need an upgrade on Bowden, I think Brown deserves more game time.

Add Lussick if we can move Fonua on.

Can you imagine our attack with Shaul, Reynolds and Sneyd.

I wouldn't mind trying Shaul, Connor and Reynolds, but that won't happen

Sneyds general play seems to be getting worse.Cant remember when he put together two or three decent performances.
We cant keep playing him just because he can kick field goals.
We can all see his deficiencies and at his age he is not going to change the way he plays. When you see the attacking threat of other halfs like Widdop or Fages yesterday it makes you wonder if this is another position we should be seriously looking at changing
I dont go with this he is an on field organizer.
We dont have an on field organizer in this current squad and thats something we are missing when it comes to building pressure and composure.
Having watched yesterdays game again and the good start we made we gifted that game to Saints with our errors but again we didnt turn them round once with kicks into the in goal to drain some energy.
You have to credit the team for their fitness and never say die attitude and we could have so easily snatched victory with a bit more composure.
Our overseas forwards worked their socks off and in big Chris we have one of the best front rows in S/L.Just hope we can keep him

Still a lack of creativity - I agree that Hooker now major issue. Service just too slow and little running threat.

Got to get some pace in the backs - Swifty now looks a world beater & most thought he was a wasted signing ?

Jakey boy always the enigma - yet again yesterday he was diamonds & rocks. Not too upset about the final pass - he is there to do that BUT the niggling etc, allied to serious lack of pace doesn't make him a player we can build a team round - just not reliable enough.

Sick of the Shaul bashers on here, yes he aint a great passer of the ball but he isnt poor either. He has pace to burn ( or did have ) and is always 100% committed. Hope BH gives him a fair crack when fit again.

I have to say Connors lack of pace was really evident at times yesterday.
Its a real pity because with his size and ability if he had pace he would be world class

.... so apart from Shaul, Griffin, Connor, Sneyd, Bowden, Houghton, Fash, Fariamo, Fonua, Johnstone, Matonga et al, you're more than happy with the squad. :)

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?

.... maybe, one day, you'll understand what the word "supporter" actually means.

Whinging and criticising seems to be all that some on here are capable of doing.

It won't be long before Griffin is being described as "injury prone".

The only tarnished silver lining from yesterday is that some posters won’t be ramming Griffin to second row down our throats for some time.
