As an arrogant pr**k myself, I am in awe of how the owner can show his face as he presides over the demise of the club to the extent that we have 250 people wandering around a wedding venue when less than a decade ago we had 3,600 fans watch us play Wigan in a proper Rugby Stadium. He's alienated 3 landlords inside 8 years and there's nothing pointing to him not doing it again south of the River. He clings to the ideal of a "Barcelona" type club with multiple teams playing multiple sports and when the going gets tough, he allows himself to be steered by people who shouldn't be in charge of anything, let alone his substantial annual investment. Wimbledon FC care not a jot for what game we play...they just want the rent and he'll pay it because 200 or so fans won't cover the wages of a steward, let alone the matchday costs.
For the first time in over a decade I'm planning a trip to London that won't involve visiting the club to catch a game and spending a few hundred quid in the shop. I'd have considered myself a fervent (vocal/opinionated) and loyal supporter, but not any more.
As for starting another supporters group, we've done that and like everything else that wasn't Dave or his Minions idea, it's been ignored (or in this case, badly copied).
Aah Barcelona, they are what about €320m in debt to other clubs & banks. Could Dave the Phantom Menace be trying to out Barcelona, Barcelona?

Lon "Dons" Broncos...the Barcelona saff of the river innit.....
Just checked the UK government guidelines for open air events and supporters. 50% capacity of Trailfinders is 2,000....even if you go full pedant and say "seated only", then we're still permitted 1,100 fans at games. The lack of any effort to even get close to that is shocking and I for one think that they'll struggle to get more than 500 to Wimbledon as an average in 2022.
The collection of WAGS and hanger-ons at games is about 50 people, so the reality that fewer than 200 paid to get in on Sunday should be a sackable offence for someone
Clearly the plan is a repeat of 1980. Put a rugby league team in a football stadium & watch the footy fans give it a go.
Of course Broncos aren't new unlike Fulham & the team has little profile, personalities or experience unlike Fulham. Broncos don't have Harry Genders or Reg Bowden unlike Fulham. Will all end in tears, sadly just like Fulham.

Just hope & Trust it never happens in any of our Lifetime!
We should have had Our Own Home & Ground by now! Rather than The RFL investing in a big hole in the ground in Yorkshire, it should have been London! The RFL HQ in London, A Centre of Excellence! as well as our home! but no they were not interested!
Even my home town St Helens moving from Knowsley Road to The Totally Wicked Stadium LOL didn't bring in bigger numbers in attendance! in fact, they lost around 2,000. same with Wigan from Central Park!

We are the same. Followed the club since the first days at Charlton, We have taken our kids and now take our grandson to games.
We feel the same that we are somewhat, surplus to requirements. I have been told previously by someone at the club that they do not really need fans.
I would say that we attend games mainly to see the friends that we have made over the years. Though quite of them have not turned up this season.
I would expect the first couple of games at PL will have between 500 and 1000 fans owing to 1) no football (euro champs will have finished, and L1 season not started) and 2) I'm guessing Wimbledon ST holders will get a large discount to the games. However when football starts, I see attendances less than 500, and even if they make the playoff's (which is 50/50 at best, considering you have Tolouse, Fev, Bradford, Fax, York all superior to us, so it really comes down to us vs Batley / Sheffield / Newcastle for 6th place), in 6th the playoff game would be away anyway, so you would not have a Playoff game at PL to get in any fans....
The real question is going to be how much effort will they make after the disaster of 2021, to try and get fans to come to 2022 season.
To me it really feels like the whole strategy is to hope that wimbledon fans will attend on mass. I really cannot see it,and with no plan B, there is no coming back from this one
Broncos best bet to pick up AFC fans was if AFC were relegated last season. That of course didn't happen so their enthusiasm will be directed at them you would expect, not us. It's not as though Broncos will be winning Toulouse style.
I feel history is repeating itself. The club had a very effective and profitable SAG group who raised £1000's over the years and also always had a volunteer to cover anything the club needed, in the office, on the pitch, advertising, leaflet dropping etc, etc. then along came Gus to disband it. The club then built up a very successful LBSA then along came the monkey to disband it. Only reassurance of the new supporters group is that there will be no supporters to upset when that is disbanded.

Let's be clear here - the LBSA was not set up by the Club and won't be disbanded by it either! They may chose to ignore, and have done so with varying degrees over the years, but that hasn't stopped the LBSA sponsoring the Academy shirt since 2016, and delivering the John Sullivan Trophy and support for CALM in partnership with the Club.
