How do you see it? Interested to know what others think. Maybe I'm in the minority.
I am not a big fan of Johnstone just think there is something missing in his play, whether he develops his game who knows but see little point adding another 9 to the squad as Danny Houghton still has a couple of years at the top and he seems as fit or fitter than Roby who is still playing now at 35. I do agree we shouldnt waste a quota space on a winger when we are well served at the moment with the real prospect of Vulcan making an impact once he gets a chance. If he is released Faraimo should consider himself unlucky as i have him ahead of Fonua on perfomances we have seen

Houghton is the problem, he’s like the Duracell bunny, and he keeps reinventing himself as well, first he’s tackle 52, now he’s tackle 85.
He’s now a half back as well, Captain, and a man of steel. no wonder Jez fexxxd off, One position not needed for change is his, God bless Danny Houghton.
I can't see the club investing in a hooker when we have two and young Hookem in the academy. We will need to replace Mint at some point but this year is too early.
If we do have cap room and even a quota spot available after resigning everyone the I think another forward is a priority. If the NZ Warriors have anyone available with the same quality as Sao and Satae then I wouldn't say no.

And hopefully we can start producing our academy players more consistently, I’ve not seen a lot of these kids yet, but I thought Hookem was a scrum half, think we have a lad from Leeds, Morley who is a nine, As said, I haven’t seen them play recently, apologies if mistaken.

Hookem has played hooker. As has MacNamara thinking about it.
We seem to have a bit of a lost generation with the youngsters. We can blame the CoHA for now but we really need to start bring more through. I get really jealous when I see Saints and Wigan teams and have to Google who their forwards are.
It depends what people want from their hookers these days, if you want a hooker that's tackle all day but at the expense of their attacking play and can also be very ropey with pass selections then Houghtons your man.
If you want a more well rounded hooker with better ball distribution and attacking threat if use Faraimos over seas spot on a hooker. I'd see how Johnstone goes this season first though, I've no doubt if he d come on against Warrington late, we d of won the game.
I agree about Manu Mau too, hasn't hit the heights here , could he draw defenders in and get more offloads out, or run better lines? As someone's said 33 and I think his overseas spot and wage could be used on an upgrade.

Does he make that choice?
He's got a 50% chance of going left or right unless someone in a better position is able to give him a clue.
Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?
Yes he passes the ball lol I'd worry if he didn't decide who he's passing too, he does it too many times, picks the wrong first receiver.
Brown in golden point was a prime example, 4th tackle could of got us right under the sticks, instead Houghton passed it to Cator who clearly wasn't expecting it who then proceeded to get it to Connor it was a hashed set that could of won us the game. Happens a lot.
Who do you think Hodgsons alluding too when he's speaking about our attack, game management improvements to be made? As I thought it was obviously Sneyd and Houghton who at times get the end of plays wrong
Been better with Reynolds in the team but seemed to go to crap again now Josh is injured.
I think if you've aspirations of winning super league, you've always got to be evolving, I think the obvious areas are the attacking side of the hooking role, and the wing roles that need a good look at and upgrade

Just my opinion of course.
Definitely right about Houghton
Had it not been for tackle 52 he'd have been released 2 or 3 years ago
Offers nothing in attack ever and has lived on tackle 52
Clark, Roby, mcshane, Dwyer, parcel, lussick are all better than Houghton
I've said for a long time Houghton holds our attack back with no threat from dummy half
