Betfred Challenge Cup Fourth Round Draw
The draw for the fourth round of the Betfred Challenge Cup was made at half time in todays fifth Challenge Cup tie between the Catalans Dragons and Wakefield Trinity. There were only four individual names in the hat with Castleford, Wigan, Salford and St Helens already certain of their progression, the remainder of games still being either/or as they are yet to be completed.
These games will take place over the weekend of the 8th and 9th of May with two games to be selected by the BBC for terrestrial broadcast, one game likely to be on The Sportsman and the final game on OuRLeague. Sadly the games will be played on the weekend before any fans are allowed back into stadiums, but those sides who progress into the semi-finals will look forward to welcoming back their fans.

Maybe we're showing some respect to the Leigh club and it's fans by not assuming we will be seeing Saints - yet again - in the cup. Personally I would prefer that the draw is done after all the previous round matches are completed. AND I wasn't impressed with the light hearted way the draw was done for what it's worth.

Have to agree, our pack was made to look lightweight and we had no go forward against both Hull and Catalan, but was more than a match for Leigh. Can't really take anything from that performance in terms of gauging if we will do better against other superleague oppositin because sadly leigh are way off the pace and looked very much a championship side still on that performance

I must say I was expecting a bit more from Leigh. They had a good 10 -15 minutes when we got a bit sloppy, but you can only beat what's in front of you. Thought Wardle had a good game and Gaskell also - apart from the charge down . Definite signs of improvements and we seem to be going in the right direction. Some decent drives from Ashworth, could be a real asset when he gets fully fit. Didn't miss Greenwood at all. Edwards and McQueen in second row were good too.

I think there was probably a bit of *well if we get through we will only get hammered by saints in next round anyway* so let's get knocked out and try pick up some league wins against sides who have to play a couple more games in the cup. Never works though, the extra rest time never makes up for the damage losing and having bad form have. Will take the win, and some positives but as i say hard to judge of we will fare better against other superleague sides as that really wasn't a test, about as good as a friendly.

If LIam Hood's disallowed try had been allowed it might have made it an interesting last 8 or 9 minutes, But the scoreline does reflect the game, mainly because Huddersfield took their 'foot off the gas' at times in the 2nd half.

Listened to radio and first half sounded great.Second half tailed away and oddly enough until mentioned in the last 10minutes didn't realise Leroy was playing

After the start we had we should have mullered them. A good side a top side a side with winning mentality would have gone onto win that game 50 points to 10.
The fact that we didn’t shows we are still not good enough to challenge the top sides.
Even with sezer that mentality will cost us.
We need more winners and more leaders
Huddersfield Giants 2013 over achievers
Huddersfield Giants 2014 under achievers ??????????
