we need to defend from the front more than ever in these next few games to protect our back four and that should a lot easier playing the likes of west ham, Newcastle and Burnley than the teams we have face recently.

i am excited to see Rodrigo and Raphinha start together for the first time; we have more than enough fire power to win tonight if we can take our chances and not be sloppy at the back.

Really disappointing performance. Far to pedestrian with the ball. I'm sick of seeing the centre halfs strolling around with the ball , the tempo is far too slow.

I didn't think anyone could be as poor as Harrison was in the first half, but Costa managed it. But he wasn't alone, we were awful.

And for crying out loud, get a set piece coach!

I hope those who keep defending Harrison and Costa have finally seen the light.

Agree with all of that. First time this season I’m properly fuming after a game. I said Soucek would cause us issues and he did. It’s damn right negligence from Bielsa our lack of height at CB. Fair enough we are missing Koch and Llorente but we should be better than that. Thankfully there’s a sizeable gap from bottom 3 but it’s worrying at the moment. As I’ve said before our left side is major major priority in the transfer window. Hopefully we’ll stay up and it will be sorted in summer.

To be fair to Costa he’s not had any game time for weeks. He was decent early doors. Thought Rodrigo looked rusty too and Klich has properly gone off boil.

I read some interesting analysis of us over last few weeks and it’s saying teams are pressing us in wide areas and it’s nullified us.

wow one of them nights we looked lethargic and not at the races at all in that second half and deserved nothing from the game, could and should have been worse. set piece defending is a joke but to also give away silly corners and free kicks to them when we knew we were struggling there is even more criminal.

probably the first time tonight where i felt we looked like a newly promoted championship team out of their depth. its so annoying we can't just have a settled back four it seems we have a different combination every game. Newcastle on wednesday and they are a really poor side but are tailor made to beat us the way West Ham have tonight with set pieces and physicality.

i was sucked in by the first few games where i thought Costa was looking like a tailor made premier league player with the extra space but since then he has been poor and tonight was abysmal. i don't say this lightly but i will go as far as saying it was gutless at times the way he seems to pull out of challenges and go down at the slightest contact.

As for Roberts that is baffling. i don't know what he offers. every game so far he wanders round like a lost puppy having no effect on the game whatsoever. i really don't see what Bielsa is seeing in him at all.

Harrison needs to up his game you are right. There is a good player in there but we need more end product from him or a spell out of the team must be beckoning.

i'd be tempted to go with Rodrigo on the left flank with Raphinha on the right. stick Dallas back in the middle as we looked to have more control with that against Everton and Arsenal. Ayling back to right back and Struijk in at CB as he is a big unit who can head a ball.
