Seems like a lot of lazy reporting and innacurrate information.
Laughed as soon as I saw the £400k a year , despite Aussie clubs offering $180-200k
Nice idea, but think we need someone who's going to settle in and stay around for a few years.
Just to add I don't think there are alot of options from NRL first grade, imo we l look for a reserve grade trying to make a name for themselves like dean blore who's out of contract at Penrith

For me, this was always a talk with his representative that then gets exaggerated massively and he is signing on 400k!
I think this is more likely to be a distraction for the club to negotiate with the actual intended target, without the media interruption. Or, it is as a tactic to force that actual target in to a decision.
For example, say we are actually going for Kodi Nikorima. NZ Warriors may want his salary off their cap. We offer him 150k, he wants 200k - we say to NZ Warriors "you subsidise his salary for 50k per year and we will take him" - similar to what Canterbury did with Pritchard. NZ Warriors decline, and then media reports have us linked with Marshall. NZ Warriors get back in touch with club and say "tell you what, we will give you 40k a year towards his salary" - deal done.
Not saying this is what is happening, but these kind of things do happen - misdirection, strategic marketing etc,

Maune the club didn't think he was good enough, the fact no SL club and even the top Championship clubs signed him, tells its own story. He did ok in limited appearances, but he has signed for Batley.
I guess the club are looking at someone with more experience or potential.
That account is now linking Swift with a move away. I'd like to keep him for another year and see how he goes.

I said a few weeks ago that Swift was being offered around to clubs. Probably on a fair whack to get him over here from Saints, and he didn't impress me at all (albeit in limited game time), but his yards out of backfield were very poor

Hard to judge on 5 games, had a really good game against Wakey, got injured and didnt play again.
He has pace and replacing him with an English winger would be tough.

Agree completely. Looked really poor from his scoots and put us on the backfoot. If we give him enough chances - he'll probably hit ok, but we could find an ok winger from our youth.
The words of fools mean nothing to one who resides in the truth.
