For anybody whose goal is to buy a nice Xmas present for under £10 then "Three Good Years" is worth a try. My sixth novel has a background of Work, Family Life, Saving the NHS and Rugby League all set during the 2006, 7 and 8 seasons. One of the main characters in the whole series is Thelma Johnson from Tonyrefail and later Cardiff who drifts north in 1962, sees her first game of Rugby League at Knowsley Road and soon becomes a big Saints fan. The other main character is the young electrical draughtsman Alan Greenall who takes her there on one of their first dates
