Think our passing at the PTB is very poor.
Quite often it comes at head height, which allows the defence to close down an extra yard or two. I counted 2-3 poor passes from Johnstone during one set in the Wigan game. Houghton passing isn’t consistent either.
I didn’t play rugby to a very high level, but at school we were taught to pass at stomach height just in front of the player running onto the ball. The must be more errors too resulting from head high passes
It’s not just Hull, but passing in Rugby League is a skill that very few teams seem to work on. I’m not a Union fan, but caught a bit of Aus v NZ the other weekend. The passing speed and accuracy of the scrum halves was amazing in comparison.
Same ball and pick up from the ground before passing.
Surprised clubs don’t get their players to work on this basic skill more.
