Based on what, the highlights real. Did ok for us and a big lad you could argue he didnt get the chance but neither Radford or Lasr rated him and they watched him nearly everyday at training.
It’s a more rigid athletic game now I guess, governed by defensive structures, dare I say almost robotic.
Individual flair players like Knocker, Mick Crane etc seemed to have so much more time on the ball, it was mesmerising, probably played at a slower pace, allowing skilled performers to entertain and showcase their talents,
I always wonder though, when we watch our stars now, they are analysed so much through technology, social media, and endless tv replays, all their flaws are highlighted so much, and they are judged so extremely.
Take Ben Crooks just for example, he was quite exceptional at the beginning with us, he looked to have a great future, and he was scoring try’s for fun, but I guess the endless videos of his defensive frailties was his undoing, just wonder how he would have gone in say the class of Buntings era, when centres scored and made tries, but never seemed to be judged on missing tackles so much.
As I say a much different game now.
I think it’s a more pulsating game now, but the entertainment seemed better in Knockers time.
I always thought Crooks and Lineham would be your right edge for 10 years. Not sure what went wrong there....?

Without wanting to criticise our coaching set up at the time, I think Benny got a chance when we were really struggling as a team, probably to early.
I watched him closely especially in the reserves when we could organise any games, and must admit Benny and Danny Langtree were standouts, but chances for them never really materialised. when you consider the patience shown with Masi, and Fash.
Big powerful unit, and no slouch either, but something just wasn’t right, and I agree he could be the one we really will regret losing, he will get more chances at Cas and good luck to him.

Radford is what went wrong, scapegoated Crooks and others for his failures, with Crooks and indeed Millar whom he clearly had issues with they had a better win ratio with them playing than when Radford dropped them in 2014. The owner had a chance to make a few quid selling Lineham to Warry so he disappeared after 2015, Lineham stated that under Radford they taught him nothing regards being a winger especially defending. In 2013 as rookies they were lethal and entertaining, bringing in players from outside the clubs youth system has seemingly being the clubs MO since LR took over.
This will continue until Last is gotten shot of and a coach who can enable an assistant/youth coach to bring the local talent through in key positions to a standard that means they have a shot at representing the club as a first team regular.

He played most of his games in the championship with Ward, Wells is commentator and powell doesn't always get his recruitemnt right, the fact he has only been given a one year deal says to me this is a gamble.

Crooks and Miller have proven they aren't good enough for a top 4 side.
Lineham defence still hasn't improved and I wouldn't believe any thing he says, just look at his twitter posts and videos.
