If we are going to NRL route there are more highly regarded assistants such as Dymock, Ciraldo and Cartwright. Hodgson has zero hype over in the Australian media as 'a head coach in waiting'.
Shane Flanagan is far and away the standout person who is available though and even if it was a short 2 year stint I think he would have the same impact as Maguire and Holbrook.
Flanagan is effectively banned in the NRL as a head coach until 2021, so I assume he's free to coach here, he would be a brilliant capture. If my memory serves me right, I think he was at Castleford as Rapers assistant, so he would be no stranger to these shores. Paul Green is also unemployed, Would he be a good acquisition? In your opinion.

Green is a weird one because he has won a GF but that was on the back of Thurston and Morgan playing the best rugby of their careers. NQL on paper have had very good teams the past few seasons but done absolutely nothing and by the end of his reign the players basically seemed to give up on him.
