Very much a like for like with Kirk i suppose. Was thinking they would add some needed size.

Given they have only just become available id imagine we have something already lined up any way. Suppose its only a few weeks before all the available SL players will be out of contract so id imagine lots of signing announcements across the league in the next couple of weeks.

Seem to be very quiet on the rumour front doesnt it. Normally there are all sorts of names being mentioned.

I guess there it Ant Walker that we are waiting to be announced. Its been all over his social media that hes been involved at the club

EDIT. i wonder if it will be Walker announced tomorrow?

Presume Anthony Walker. Unless he's just on trial with us and may be announced at a later date. Pretty certain he's training with us.

Daniel Murray signed with Fax. Obviously we're looking a bit top heavy with outside backs at the moment, but I doubt Kear is type of coach to go into a season light in the pack. Presume (and hoping) we've got some irons in the fire. There's a fair few quality forwards who are free agents with the demise of Toronto & Ottawa.

I hope we have some decent signings lined up or in the bag. Apart from Brough and Murphy our signings have been a little underwhelming. We are being left behind with the signings made by Leigh, Fev, York, Widnest etc.

Names mean nothing to be fair mate Catalans have been a perfect example of that for years

Do you honestly expect us to be able to match Leigh in terms of spending? We are broke, we've applied for a loan from the RFL. We are certainly not in any kind of position to be throwing money around. Be grateful that we even still have a club to support at this point.

or we are spending within our means with a squad value of about £500k for this year

Like the other 40 clubs, there was a deadline to meet to be eligible for the loan if needed. We have met that deadline. Now that furlough has been extended, it's unlikely we will need to draw down the loan anytime soon.

Agreed. We seem to have finally learnt. Sawyers experience at running Dewsbury has helped.

I suppose, although the last "proper" financial crisis was Green's liquidation 4 years ago. There have been a couple of near misses since then but creditor agreements seem to have been made & met & discharged without any public bad mouthing.

I think Leigh, Toulouse, London will be outspending us this year. Fev - probably, although I'm not sure. York, again maybe similar to us?
Of note, there is matched spending centrally for the academy. For every £1 we put in, it is matched from central funds up to a maximum of £100k. Only London from that list has an academy.

Here is a fun one. Using the word "fun", loosely of course. It was a year ago all the pestegg/Belcki stuff.....
What eventually happened? :-)
