Agree with most of the comments about the effort and the performance, shame about some of the basic errors but perhaps understandable under the circumstances.
From the clubs point of view all credit to them for fulfilling the fixture when they were in little better situation than Castleford. Shame the club, in a sense, lose out in terms of league points and Cas get the chance to regroup for another day.
With the benefit of hindsight perhaps it would have been better to create a pool of players across Superleague that could have been loaned to other clubs that were struggling to fulfil fixtures so they could complete their own fixtures. Just a thought and hopefully we do not ever need to think of such things again.

No interference by either Sutcliffe or Handley who both had eyes on the ball together with Scott. Only player who interfered in the contest and only had eyes for Handley was Tuimamave. Fair try to Sutcliffe.

Showed a lot of spirit not to capitulate and let the score run away from them. That’s been the format of the last two years, so was good to see some spirit back.

Can we please leave Connor at full back?

Frustrates me, when hull bring a young kid in, in a prominent position, it seems we ask them to do as little as possible and just try getting them through the game by doing just the basics, instead of letting them play and taking control, we seem scared to let them, I understand we need to protect the young kids, but other teams seem to have more confidence in the youngsters

I agree with that. McNamara's first involvement against Cas was a great kick to touch, but since then he hasn't kicked the ball on the last tackle I don't think. Sneyd insists on kicking, despite being under huge pressure and forcing him in to some shocking kicks at times

Good coaching ( sic) 2 players appear to attack the ball but effectively take defensive player out of the competition , making contact in the air, leaving second attacking player to score .Sure we'll see this strategy again !

Can't argue with the above. McNamara was hardly noticeable last night and that's no fault of his. We just seem to not want to involve him with ball in hand and over used Sneyd. Now that's either something that was down to the game plan or tactic that Last wanted or the players automatically just went to Sneyd rather than McNamara maybe in part due to a confidence/protection mode?

Would have liked to have seen the team involve him a little more last night.

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

Perhaps because of the short notice and lack of preparation he was asked to keep to the basics.
