We wont sign the players we need to improve for next season, so he will have work with what he has (Which will be a worst squad than this year), it will take at least a year and this season and next is about building, playing young kids and trying to play some rugby and get some confidence back.

We need to find a new running half back if we are to stick with Sneyd as an organiser
Despite so many chances Connor doesnt cut it as a half back.Although we beat Cas in the cup he was poor in that game and yesterday even worse but for 10 minutes late in the game.
I would rather see Carlos at 6 than Connor.
If we are not going to use Connor as a centre then i would try and offload him for a fee.
If we can offload Connor and Jones it may give Pearson some funds for a new coach and half back.
Little point having a decent set of forwards if they are run ragged by pacey backs.
Losing the pace of Ratu and Kelly is a big blow and i can also see Adam Swift asking to leave which would leave us with the slowest set of backs in S/L.
Players with speed are what Clubs will be looking for now and we need to find some.

Then again, with a Walmsley, Thompson, Cooper, Hill, or Tag even up front, the platform for a different game evolves, beaten pack, halves don’t function, Hastings/Tommy/ Widdop are not blessed with pace, only Austin springs to mind.

Jake needs to be left we’re he is for this season, possibly giving young Macca a run. I don’t disagree with you over our oversized backs, and as we nearly all would like a change of coach etc, AP has some tricky decisions to make.

Wigan hardly had a big pack on show but what they do have is pace and a system
A lot of young guns in their forwards
Widdop and Hastings are faster than you think and they also have kicking games and rugby brains.
I agree Pearson has some decisions to make

Our pack was overwhelmed in the first 25/30 game over, their young guns are very very good, ours are not. Overhaul needed we agree, just differ in opinions on Jake,

Overhaul: :)

This season has been a massive financial hit.

Leaving - Kelly, Ellis, Buchanan, Harris, Graham and Ratu - they need to cover sky's reduction next year of £250k - only just when the wind is in the right direction.

Season pass sales for next year the same as this year - I doubt it.

Walk-ups for next year (a significant amount) could be zero - let's hope not, but still seriously reduced.

Sponsorship - debateable, but likely to be reduced.

LR's salary being paid until March 2021 - more than likely, one way or another. (And Ellis will probably now have a full time coaching role.)

So where does the money come from to get rid/pay off players, coaches and whoever else's face doesn't fit ??

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?

I completely agree things will be precarious financially. Very worrying times for many clubs, but us in particular with a big contracted wage bill and no rich backer.

A shame Malcolm Healey would rather give half a million to the Tories than help his local club.

Overhaul is needed, the feasibility is another matter.

intriguing one which needs over hauling the most

Players or

Coaching setup?

Since Last took charge we've had a couple of games we've actually looked alright in, Huddersfield and Castleford.

I'm wondering if we wernt constantly playing quick turnarounds and losing key players on a weekly basis would we see more consistency?

Although I am scratching my head at The use of our props currently. I'm intrigued if Last could actually be decent under a different set of circumstances

We dont want decent
we want top class.
A coach who commands respect, can instill discipline into the club and produce a trophy winning side that plays attractive Rugby League.
Not asking for much but they are out there.
