I agree with you. If there is nothing to play for by then (which seems likely) it's really not worth rushing him back. Just have a good rest and come back hungry next year.
That said I fully expect him to play if hes fit. Dead rubbers or not.

Do you know Isaiah, Scott Taylor, along with Houghton is the very soul and pulse of our club, he was magnificent at the start, absolutely the very best since Lee Crooks, forced international recognition, outstanding physical presence, I can say this as an old fxxk, but since Watts was allowed to leave, Tag has never reached those standards again, the downward spiral began then, and has never changed,
We’ve had an absolutely fantastic investment in our team by AP and to me, if Tag could revive that domination, the rest would have gelled easily,
It’s no surprise to see the invigoration of Millington at Cas, we had the makings of the best front row in Super league, but some how managed to destabilise it before it begins,

I am an old fart too! Soooo, Although I agree that the club may have been right to let Watts go (if what is said is true) his leaving seems to have had the same/similar effect on the rest of the team, as did Sir P Cooke leaving.

That’s not very strenuous exercise going on social media.
