Oh dear, I thought Club Hull was the reason we're falling off the edge of a cliff.

However, Bonny's reply to Seb's centuries old post did make me chuckle....

bonaire wrote:Give him some time Seb and i am certain you will change your opinion.
he is a real athlete big strong runner and still young.
If he fits into our club culture he will be a very good signing
I have been critical of Radford but i like the nucleus of young forwards we now have at the club.
Savelio,Levy,Bienek,Masi,Jordan Lane and Jack Brown.
If we recruit well for next season with the overseas spots we will have then we could be a force once again with real strength and depth.

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?

Problem here is that the Rovers fan is right

As a club were built up all wrong for this new faster throw it about rugby league - under Last were basically the same team as under Radford - Rovers look a much better side than we do and under no relegation we should be trying to change not just being boring as love like usual

the manner of our loses over the last few years(kr) has been very hard to watch, were still losing now but i find it enjoyable even watching us get beat with the effort and enterprise we show, so fc although a very strong squad, seem as if they cant be arsed some of the time when they play the big boys

Ah the joy of the gallant loser, he battles bravely, his principles crystal, we shall climb from the base, rejoicing our style, our verve, we look down, our studs are still fixed, lowly, detached. No fear, we will rise, we will rise.

Depends whether the "new faster throw it about" ninesesque structure with six again etc endures beyond the next season. Whilst all sides aspire to throw the ball around the constraints of relegation pressure and the need to win on heavy pitches in February/March plus a likely revert to old rules will mean teams again will need to use big packs and conservative tactics to grind wins out at times. The top teams of course can do both.

Whilst the game had become quite formulaic in recent times, and I thought I was losing interest in the game because of it, I now realise this touch rugby throw it anywhere rugby is worse. It’s the equivalent of a sugar rush. Initially enjoyable but ultimately unsatisfying.
Admittedly the Dobbins look adventurous, but it’s not sustainable, and they’ll crash and burn at some point. To be fair though you would rather watch them than us as an outsider, under the games present guise.

At the end of the day, we’re just playing a series of exhibition games to protect the TV deal.

Indeed.

I'm of course a little biased but some people might say that their 'throw it about a bit" policy isn't working, given the fact they are bottom with two wins from ten.

I agree, they are playing some great rugby, but that's easy when you are playing in a nothing to lose game against the like of Saints or Wigan, be interested to see if they have the mentality to tough out a game against the likes of Hudds or Wakey. Unless you start winning regularly the fans will get fed up of losing despite throwing the ball about.

You could also argue that not having one of the stronger squads, TS is trying to play to their tactical strengths.
They are entertaining to watch, beat Wigan and narrowly lost to Saints.
Could we say any of the above about us currently?
