Nice to see you skirted over the other parts. I mean it's not like you even said yourself that you'd be pretty miffed if you couldn't get a ticket for a big game... Almost like you'd know that your either have to get in early or risk missing out.

I'd be miffed because I go every week. I agree that we need to do things to promote the game but decreasing the amount of tickets we can sell isn't one of them.

All hypothetical I know but I don't know where the reduced capacity if we switched North & South Stands from seating to safe standing terracing comes from?

Old Wembley 1985 v Hull FC 98k official capacity.
Old Wembley mid 90's reduced to 78k when seating at each end was added.

If anything, capacity would either remain the same or even increase.

So your options would be:

1 - risk it and get a ticket anyway (nothing has changed)

2 - get your ticket well in advance (better for the clubs marketing department to help them promote the game)

3 - buy a season ticket to secure a spot each week (winner for the club)

4 - risk it, miss it and have to buy a ticket in the East or West (increased revenue for the club)

5 - don't go (club loses out Vs the current situation).

The current stadium capacity is more of a hindrance to the club imo. We very rarely go over 20k and when we've only got 16k in there it's lacking in atmosphere.

Yip
Any idea what his intentions are?
Have we actually agreed a deal for the stadium?
Do we know if he is purchasing 25% an then sitting back or is he offering further support after that?
Does any "Further Support" need to be spent in more urgent places, like, you know, keeping the stadium open and making it comply to all current H&S Rules & regs that may cost god knows.
Or
Is he coming on board with the intention of splashing the cash and investing say £10/20/50 million?

Until any of the above Is known and can be confirmed I think it's pointless talking about "What ifs"?
Because what is definite, is that without a further 10/20million being invested none of it is possible.

It cost Celtic around £0.5m to convert about 2,600 seat into "rail seats" for safe standing.

It's not pointless at all. The stadium WILL have a new owner and, like you've said, it does lose money. Those are the definites of the situation. Why shouldn't we talk about what could potentially be done by the new owner to reverse this.

Now I don't for one min think that the new owner, whether that be IL or someone else, will be doing so to continue what is, by your own admission, a loss making venture.

If this isn't a topic to talk about, then what is?

Fill your boots then
I want Electric Heated Seats, preferably like the ones you see the PL Footballers on the bench sit on
A Safe Standing section at both ends
An extended roof that will overhang so that the front rows on all sides don't get wet
Corners filled in adding another 6k to the capacity (Then again some will moan about the Ground being too big then?)
etc.

Oh & BTW - There is definitely nothing "CERTAIN" about there being a new owner, and even thought it is 99,9% likely there will be who's to say if said new owner will not want to "Cut his cloth" which in turn would mean doing only necessary work and getting it's tenants to pay more, move their fixtures around even more to accommodate concerts etc. which in turn will mean us as fans paying more to get just the same as we do now or potentially even less

I'm not saying this isn't the Topic to talk about it, I'm just saying there's a lot more water to flow under the bridge before we can start deciding if it's a good idea or not to start spending 10million on upgrading the ground
The Topic to hand is Latics in administration - Leneghan Bid - Once we know the outcome of that then I would guess the other stuff will follow on

That was my assumption based on them presumably wanting to be careful with how many people they allow to stand up post-Hillsborough. I might be totally wrong about that. Obviously I agree you can physically fit more people in the same area standing up, it was more a H&S assumption.

Now you're being facetious.

Latics have gone into admin and someone in turn will have to own the stadium.

Like you said they may cut their cloth, but that's just another option to discuss of things that can happen as something does need to change.

Also the previous poster was right with the quote of £500k for Celtic converting to safe standing [url]
