On the other hand, if the man in question is a serial philanderer, could a defence be built around this not causing a reasonable person to have a lower opinion of him than they already do? Not that I’d want to test it. There’s other party to the alleged affair to bear in mind too.

Looks like a similar story did the rounds a year ago - is it emerging from hibernation?
