For the record, the opening post was wholly accurate and even the government minister has felt the need for the debacle that he presided over.
The decision for students not to sit exams this year, due to Covid19, which was exactly right, was taken 4 months ago.
However, the total inability of those in charge to sort out the mess has taken too long.
Even now, decisions have been taken based on the downgraded results which prevent some students from getting to the better universities or, their first choice.
This is not jealousy on my part, it's black and white fact and it seems that I was right on this one.

Have you ever tried arguing your point rather than falling back on your usual bile contained in every post. I will give you an opportunity to explain why you believe or even accept that the confusion and hurt caused by the education debacle is acceptable. We have students who grades were reduced because of the school and class size who have now missed out on their first choice universities.
What would you say to them because the government have not been able to come up with anything other than to try to blame others.

Something isn't right when kids get an A in their mocks, are predicted an A in their exams, but are given a C by an 'algorithm'.

I read about a girl sitting for A level German. She had spent 5 years in Germany, spoke it fluently and was not surprisingly graded A* by her teacher but under the algorithm this was reduced to a C .

Personally don't think this was a mess up based on the Tories having an agenda.
Think it was just a complete mess.
The home nations have their own control over education,Williamson only has jurisdiction over England.
Looks like all four nations(with different controlling assemblies across the political spectrum) adopted the same problematic algorithm.

Indeed, but that fact doesn't support the left agenda, hate and rhetoric of some posters on here, who probably struggle to even spell the 'A' in A levels. it is becoming a sadly apparent fact that this site is now merely another mouthpiece for the politics of hate and envy of the left, any comment to the contrary gets you warned, but it's OK for them to make personal attacks on you or I.
