Unfortunately Fonua has shown nothing since his return and has been a very poor signing and in truth one that should not have been made.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

Too early to right Fonua off, I know he hasn't been great, but not many have. We know he can be a very good player, low on confidence, needs dropping for next week

What is evident is that Salford did nothing fancy yesterday but simply did the basics right and got reward for that and their effort. They had desire, wanted to win and played as a team. We looked like a bunch of individuals that were there for a knock about, there was little or no organisation, no width to our play at all and time and again we were too narrow & bunched and the speed at which we played to say it was pedestrian is being kind.
Regardless of the Coach and the Covid situation the players have had 4 months to take a look at themselves and make sure individually they didn't put in the shambolic performances as they did pre lockdown. Sadly all that time to reflect as individuals, to focus and right the wrongs in their own performances seems to have been for nothing.
Far too many players are still just coasting through the game and at least 6 should be dropped altogether and others on the fringes given a chance. As a player and captain Houghton offered nothing and despite his claims of how refreshed he is, I saw little change if any at all. It was the same old same old, no leadership, hands on hips after every Salford score. A captain should lead by example and drive the players on but there is very little of that happening.

It was day and night wasn't it Chris the difference in desire and enthusiasm.
I commented that when a few decisions go against us, it's almost as if it's the excuse some need to throw the towel in, there's no hunger with alot of these players, I think the rot needs digging out as it effects the whole team as seen.
Sunday's pivotal now, can Last stand by his word and hold players accountable , if that team sheet includes a lot of names mentioned on here I ain't even bothering watching as itl be more of the same

So So Disapppinting.
Dropping a few will make little to no difference, our entire game plan is dreadful. Hearing Lasty bemoaning errors 'coming out of yardage' spoke volumes for me. We PERSIST in one out barges in our own half - where almost every time our lone soldier gets met at the gainline, mullered & then turned on his back, necessitating a very slow play the ball which leads to slow service to another lone runner who meets a very quick advancing defensive line................... oh & then we kick it back to them & have to defend against quick play the balls, multiple bodies in motion & creativity in play. No wonder our guys are gassed !!!!
Our gameplan is SOOOO Flawed & ten years out of date. I really thought the break would change things ??
Can't believe how easily we are outflanked by almost every team, often with just conventional passing - BUT opposition draw a man before passing unlike our 'shovel it on 10 metres from the gainline'. You know like we were all coached to do as 8 year olds.
Really feel for AP, his face was thunder & nobody should doubt his passion. In the clubs defence this squad was assembled to play Bradford Bulls Rugby - the COVID version of the game is not suited to this squad.

Yes it certainly was, just the difference in the kick/chase alone between us and Salford was so telling as to where we are as a team and a team that wanted to put things right.
Last has no option but to drop certain players and now he has to show and prove his mettle by doing just that regardless of their name. If they want to be in the 17 they have to prove they are worthy of a place in the 17 and quite frankly there weren't many that did that on Sunday. Hopefully if Last is true to his word and drops certain players out the 17 and not just to the bench they may then realise they have to put a shift in for the team every minute of the game.
Our line speed and ball retention has to be improved massively against Cas.
