I will be very surprised if Whelan buys back the club when some time ago, he said that many smaller clubs would go to the wall and could see how the finances and attendances has started to go down at the club.
As for MP Lisa Nandy, she will do nothing apart from say things she has been fed by certain people connected with the Latic's management running the club.
Other than going out of business, I know nothing about the Bury situation so if you could say who it’s similar it’s be appreciated.
I agree re Whelan, I’d also be amazed if he bought it back considering the amount of money needed and current climate.
As for Lisa Nandy she’s done what any MP would do. She’s as powerless as you or I and the Sports Minister isn’t going to do anything more than shrug his shoulders. She’s in a position where she’s damned if she says anything and damned if she doesn’t.

Why should he/she show class when we have had nothing but viciousness for years from the football yobbery. This is a forum full of rugby fans, i think you will only get a hanful of people feeling sympathetic. Look on the bright side, there might be a stadium going very cheap soon when they are reformed in the Springfield and district league playing Platt Bridge 'B'

People just need to realise that minus a few exceptions the majority of latics/warriors fans simply do not get on and never will do. Nothing that people say or do will ever change that, it is what it is. We can talk until blue (or red) in the face about "all coming from the same town" but it matters little, there has been and will continue to be a massive divide in the town when it comes to the rugby or football.
