Quotes from Phil Wilkinson below: Just had 20 minutes with the administrator at the DW Stadium. Transcribing now, and video interview soon. Some key points: - Intention is to finish season - Confident of finding a buyer - Club 'well run day to day'... money just hasn't arrived from owner - Plan is to find a buyer, rather than break up and sell-off training ground, players etc - Spoken to manager, who was shocked.. but positive attitude. He'll be informing players - Won't impact on Warriors' use of DW.

Is that a 10 point deduction? I like Wigan and Paul Cook and was hoping they'd stay up

No it's either finish 12 points clear of relegation this season, or start next season in L1 on -12.

Not technically.
At the end of the season if Latics are in the bottom 3 they go down and start on -12.
If they're outside the bottom 3 then a 12 point deduction is applied which could see them relegated, but there would be no deduction next season.

I'm 49, I've had a brain haemorrhage and a triple bypass and I could still go out and play a reasonable game of rugby union. But I wouldn't last 30 seconds in rugby league. Graham Lowe When Wigan do comebacks Grand Final 2013 Hull KR 2012 Bradford Bulls 2007

I'm not a fan of theirs but I hope they survive. I've worked in Wigan for 16 years and know about the rivalry between the two clubs. The mood on here is mainly one of sympathy but I have to say I'm not sure it would be the same if the situation was reversed.
