what do you deem the failures to be, without the 20/20 hindsight that is.
I agree for this government and Johnson it probably the best they could do based on their combined capabilities. The mistakes started in 2016 when a pandemic response report was produced but not released like so many others. If this report backed up the government’s response then I am sure it would now be in the public domain. Hindsight would have applied if we were one of the first countries to recognise the pandemic and if effects. We were not with Italy giving us two weeks warning of the full impact but we ignored this believing the best way was to treat it like an influenza outbreak. I could go on and list a litany of mistakes that are well documented to those who wish to believe them, I suppose their will always be the diehards like yourself who are blind to Johnson’s and the government’s shortcomings.

Feel free to prove your opinion, I can bet my soul you cannot, you are like Kussenberg, righteous and hate filled from the shadows.

You could but for some reason you haven't, neither have answered IR80's question either, you got one thing right though, I'll give you a clue shall I, it's highlighted in red, it's something you use quite a lot against this government, when your not making things up to seve your own political agenda that is.

You can make excuses for the government and the situation they inherited i.e. low testing threshold with a capacity of c2k/day. You can excuse the lack of PPE - much better to spend the money on clinical operations than stockpile PPE in case. What you cannot excuse is sending old people back to nursing homes without them being tested. I agree about the lockdown, anybody would have been nervous about trashing the economy so to delay as long as possible makes sense to me. Track and trace - we have a society that hates intrusion - even in Singapore only a small % of the population have downloaded the app. Schools - this is political nothing else, unions flexing their muscles - I would stop the wages of any teacher not prepared to teach - look in France now!!
Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.

Ah, it's those bloody leftie unions again. You do realise that school buildings vary and not all layouts lend themselves to safe working dont you?

Of course they don't especially if you don't want them too!! There isn't a classroom in this country that couldn't take 10 6-7 olds at a time - come on be realistic if you are trying to defend the indefensible. Most classrooms are either square or rectangular - and have corridors that link them - it isn't rocket science.

You had better tell Gavin Williamson because he is responsible for making schools safe, it is unfortunate that when it was announced it was done without any pre planning despite the time available. It could be that Johnson announced it without notifying the cabinet which appears to be the way he operates. If Cummins likes it then all is well to proceed.
