Not so much an exemption as clarification. It seems any employee can undertake training in the core business of their employer, so long as the employer is not making an income directly from it. So, all RL players could be training now, BUT how that would fit with employed coaches, physio etc. I am not sure.
IF the chairmen wanted it, it would be happening, it really does seem to me they don't want behind closed doors games if they can be avoided.

Personally I think it will take at least 3 weeks of full contact training before players will be anywhere near ready for a full on game. How long did NRL take before they resumed? I don’t see why we can’t get up and running by 2nd week in July.
I didn’t see earlier discussions Armavinit, and what I’ve read, perhaps I’m wrong, but it actually intimates the furlough scheme will end on the resumption of “training” which you can imagine if correct will tempt cash starved clubs not to prepare till the last possible pay day.

I don't understand why chairman wouldn't want the games behind closed doors if there's a financial compensation fund for for lost revenue due to games being played behind closed doors, if that's the case clubs won't lose income as they can claim all matchday income back.
Let's face it they cannot be avoided, I'd say sky's premiership schedule is delaying superleague, so when the footballs close to being done, rugby will start gearing up for a start, mark my words. And then itl be behind closed doors until the government deem it safe.

Would the "financial compensation fund for for lost revenue" cover the potential compensation cost to pass holders + the loss of walk up revenue?

I'm presuming they may go on past attendances or an average of past attendances of the specific team were playing then reimburse ticket sales for that, something similar, that's me guessing , I'm not sure of the finer details but obviously FC will be compensated.
The walk up revenue could be covered and improved upon In my opinion by making every game pay per view charge say £8 to watch each game via Sky match select, 20,000 viewers should easy be doable sat in the comfort of your sports starved home, that'd be £160k per home game plus financial compensation recieved from the RFL
Remains to be seen how itl function though
How much compensation do pass holders want?
Would you be happy potentially getting pay per view games free as well as discounts on future shirts or passes?

What about those that already have Sky, and the free PL games being aired etc. Players Union not helping the situation either I hear.
It will be mid August, behind closed doors for the rest of the season, they surely can't let stadiums be opened until a vaccine, not if they have any sense.

I already have sky but don't have the option to watch every FC game, there's already an agreement for a televised schedule stick to that, then make every other game pay per view, that way clubs honour the broadcasting agreement as well as make extra money from pay per view.

If it is the £16m will be used.
As has been said in the other thread, the £16m is for the whole sport, not just SL, it isn't to make up revenue above and beyond keeping the business afloat, and it has to be paid back.

Yes, I’ve just seen the article and as you say HMRC have stated furlough ends when players report back for training. HDM did carry a story stating Union had been given dispensation.
