Nobody would have taken any notice whatsoever about Venezuela it was the left wing brigade in England that was always trumpeting the success of the country.Venezuela was at onetime the most prosperous country in South America. Lauded by all the left wing chattering class in England as to the model that successfull socialism brings. Then the socialist policies slowly but surely brought the country to its knees. Once that situation arises the educated , upper and middle class flee the country, taking with them what little money they have left. The working or non working class are left to pick up the pieces. These are the one section of the community that socialism is supposed to support. Apparently most of the country’s that have tried socialism and failed have been using the wrong sort of socialism.
