Quote:The Rugby Football League and Super League Europe today announce a suspension of fixtures in the Betfred Super League season, initially until 3rd April, during which time the season’s structure and fixture rescheduling will be considered.

These changes will also apply across other competitions including the Championship, League 1, Betfred Women’s Super League and the community game, with the RFL to have further discussions of the implications at meetings of Championship and League 1 clubs and community board over the next couple of days.

I dont think anyone believes games will be taking place on April 3rd. This is goin to be a 2 or 3 months minimum.

Are we headed for financial ruin yet again?

A two or three month suspension of games could kill off the whole sport never mind just us again!

Needs some very careful planning by those in charge. Good job the guy in charge is...Ralph Rimmer. Oh.

Not sure what other choice RL had to be honest, but the longer it goes on the worse it will get. I think for us in particular, since I'm pretty sure we're already in a big deficit of 'goodwill' given the recent past.

I’m just surprised that we haven’t had a post yet saying this is all part of Big Niges’ Plan

A few seasons ago the Bulls were expected to survive without central funding, maybe now the SL teams can do the same for the good of the game. I won't be holding my breath.

Be careful what you wish for, one day you may get it!

We should be able to give all of the other clubs good advice on how to run a club with absolutely no money. That is something we are fairly good at till we go bust.

Pretty much saying it how it is, imo.

In our case, accepting the reality seems a departure from the norm but I'm pleased that, at least, the new management realises that things can't continue on the current basis, even if no-one actually seems to know how to fix the problem. The virus though is a different problem for people much further up the food chain though the incumbent in No.10 reminds me too much of some of our ex-owners - and fills me with an equal amount of confidence. "We're gonna get coronavirus done", come on now, altogether, pretend we're in primary school (or the cabinet) and slowly repeat ad nauseum. Yup, that should fix it.
